Top Chef Reunion

Season 4 of Top Chef may be over, but there is always the reunion episode to look forward to. This reunion episode had the usual recap of different fights and bloopers, yet there were definitely some clips that we didn’t see before.

Let’s start with this season’s “bromance”. First we have Spike and Mark, who take bubble baths together and drink champagne in order to wind down…whatever makes you feel relaxed I guess! Spike was a two timer and went back and forth between Mark and Andrew. Andrew’s energy is definitely hard to match, and I got the vibe that Spike was a little “closer” to Andrew than Mark. Lastly we have the most unlikely pair, Richard and Dale. Richard went as far as complimenting Dale’s nipples! If that doesn’t say bromance I don’t know what does. Richard and Dale definitely have my vote for best couple.

I also liked the clips shown from the steam room. Some of the highlights were Mark as the “Glad Wrap” man or the crazy instrument he made. Stuffing Mark in the big silver warmer drawers was also pretty funny.

Then we got to see a collection of Lisa’s happy faces throughout the season. After the clips were shown, Lisa told a story of two girls that came up to her at a party and said they were scared to talk to her because they thought she was mean. Lisa?! Mean?! I don’t know where they got that idea.

The reunion finished with the winner of “Fan Favorite”. I had it narrowed down to Andrew or Stephanie, and Stephanie ended up winning. My favorite part was before the winner was announced and Tom Collichio tells Lisa that he doesn’t think she has a chance. Ha! Way to go Tom.

Unfortunately, last night’s reunion episode means that this season of Top Chef is officially over. Sad, but there’s another season to come! Who knows what kind of characters they’ll draw in next season…guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

Be sure to watch for another Top Chef Holiday Challenge this year. I wouldn't be surprised if they did it again like they did last year.

I was highly impressed with the reunion overall. They didn't shy away from anything!

*Tom admitted that although he wasn't there, he thought that Lisa and her 2 bad dishes should have been eliminated over Dale and his one.

*Gail was outed for having fallen asleep during the final judges table for the finalé

*Lisa outed herself by saying that she was nervously approached by scared fans at a "lesbian party".

*They discussed all the cursing, and Tom really quieted the room with his comments wondering if that is how they want people to see them. Awesome.

*They asked Zoi and Jennifer if they have broken up. How lame of them to not come clean either way. The fact that they didn't say they were together, and the way Jennifer leaned waaay away from Zoi when it was brought up leads me to think that they did call it quits.

*Andrew was clued in to the suspicions of viewers that he imbibes in more than just healthy food.

*They told us how Antonia was known as the "black hammer." I'm waiting for people to complain that it's racist. Why not the "death hammer" or some other term? I found the whole thing funny though, regardless of any potential insensitivity.

I'm glad that they didn't give the "fan favorite" to the next highest vote winner instead of Stephanie since she won the title, but Stephanie was VERY well liked by the fans, the other chefs, and the judges, so she deserved it as much as anyone else.

I was surprised that Tom said that many felt that it was Richard's title to lose. Stephanie won just as many if not more than Richard, she just did it in a less "flashy" manner. I also was surprised that he took that dig at Lisa by saying that he knew she wouldn't win. As much as I didn't like Lisa, that comment was unnecessary, and I wonder why he said it.

I might see myself getting one of those culinary b*n#r shirts for my step-brother who is a cook, but I can't see myself wearing one out in public or when cooking out on the grill.

Hey - the whole reunion show was very upfront and I am glad that Tom said what everyone watching already knew. I don't see it as a jab, just a point of fact. Remember the last TV poll that was done and Lisa was picked to go by something like 96%. I just do not see it as a dig, Lisa is the one that chose to act like a bitch throughout the whole show - I loved the angry Lisa clips that they showed!

Yes ~ That was weird and very obvious!

I have to agree that I thought it was a jab at Lisa(sorry Ranger!). I thought it was a little strange and I did not like Lisa one bit. But it was unnecesary imo. Although it puzzles me how Lisa could be surprised that people on the street don't like her!!

I was really hoping Richard would have gotten the fan fave. It was so cool how he said he wanted to go home and make babies ~ and he did!! Best of luck to them.
