Get Your Affairs In Order - Army Wives

In an attempt to make this blog easier to read, let's tackle tonight's episode by each individual Army Wife. Some of the thoughts may overlap, so here goes:

Pamela:
This gal is lonely. Being left alone to ponder the what ifs of life can prove to be a dangerout thing. Running into her friend Scott, from ten years ago, proved to be a temptation she almost succombed to. When he brought her daughter back from a sleepover at his house, I wondered if she was thinking about what life would have been like for the two of them if they had been married. After he put the little one to sleep, I thought for sure she and he were going to get it on. I'm so relieved that she had enough sense and self control to stop herself before anything happened.

Did anyone else get the impression the only reason Pamela and Chase got married was because she got pregnant?

Roxy:
Her storyline tonight didn't directly deal with her home life, but rather her attempt to help another military family. After a soccer game, in which TJ and Finn became friends with Javier, they learned Javier's father was killed by a Humvee (sp?) at least six months ago. She learned Javier's mother, Delores, was forced to leave her home because it was Army policy to move off of post six months after the death of their spouse. Delores was obviously grief stricken over the loss of her husband, and it seemed like too much for her to get enough strength to leave her home. Thankfully with the help of Claudia Joy and the rest of the gang, they worked together to get her packed up and ready to start a new life for her expanding family.

We did get good, or is it bad, news that Trevor doesn't need surgery or the crutches for his knee. He'll only require two weeks of Physical Therapy before he can train again. While on the one hand it's good that his injury isn't more serious, it's terribly sad because this means he'll be able to be deployed in the near future. *sigh* no sadness for this family, I hope.

Did anyone else think Finn looked absolutely adorable in his helmet playing soccer?

Claudia Joy:
Imagine her surprise when Amanda tiptoed into their home very early in the morning after spending the entire night with Jeremy. Was anyone else as surprised as I was by how direct she was when she admitted to having sex for the first time with Jeremy? Yes, we saw it in previews, but I was still surprised.

When the discussion of a family vacation to Yellowstone arose again, Amanda told her family she planned to go visit Jeremy on Post instead. Later to suggest she might stay with Denise for the week they were gone. Claudia Joy admitted to Denise that she was jealous that Amanda could confide in her. She quickly remedied the situation when she offered to stay behind with Amanda while the rest of the family enjoyed their vacation. At least there was some peace when Amanda showed her Dad she loved him, even though she admitted her relationship with Jeremy was not over.

How long do you think Amanda and Jeremy are going to last? Do you think Jeremy's aggressive past may come back into the picture with Amanda?

Denise:
Her story could be filed under quality, not quantity tonight. We didn't see her alot, but when we did, we learned that she going to back to "finish what I started" by becoming a registered nurse. When she went to a class to get refreshed, I thought she seemed a bit overwhelmed with the new modern technology and how updated everything was. That only made the final scene with her going into the hospital room show her amazing courage and strength.

I'm proud of her and what she's choosing to do with her life. What I am wondering is if she discussed this with her husband, or if she was doing this on her own while he's away in Washington?

Roland:
Oh Roland, what are we going to do with you? We all knew you were unhappy with your marriage to Joan, but we also thought you were going to be the one to rise above the temptation to have an affair. Was the sexual tension that great that you couldn't keep your hands off each other? One minute they were sitting in the car, the next they were engaged in a hot and heavy love making session in he hotel room.

It was interesting to learn that he became a psychiatrist because of his fathers sudden early death at the age of 36. I'm curious to learn how this bit of information is going to impact Roland in the future.

Did anyone else know Roland wrote a book?

What's going to happen when Joan returns next week and admits she wants her marriage to come before the military?

Next week seems to be the week we are going to learn a dark secret from Claudia Joy's past. Why did she drop out of Harvard? And why does Lenore feel it's her job to spread the news around Post? I suspect it has to do with Claudia Joy becoming pregnant, but maybe it's something more juicy.

One thing that I have thought more than once but haven't yet mentioned: does anyone else think that Amanda (actually, the actor who plays her) looks like she could really be Claudia Joy's daughter? I think the resemblance is striking. I think I previously mentioned that they did a great job having Gigi Rice playing Roxy's mother since they seemed like they really could be mother/daughter.

I really hated that Roland let his hormones overrule his head. If they had gone ahead and done the same thing with Pamela, I would really have been upset with the writers. I have to admit, though, that there was a little part of me wanting to see a kiss. Well, at least the kiss on the forehead was a nice touch.

Thanks for a nother great recap.
