Aflac Iron Girl Lake Las Vegas Triathlon
• The Las Vegas Iron Girl triathlon — a female-only event — was held back in April, but finally gets its TV due on Saturday afternoon (July 26, 2:30 pm/ET, NBC). The telecast showcases the Olympic-distance race: 1.5K swim/40K bike rid/10K run. In addition to the elite athletes, the show will feature everyday women participating in the race, including a 38-year-old legally blind mom, who competes with a guide — a guide who just happens to be a thyroid cancer survivor! A short preview of the event can be seen here

• The Canadian men's basketball team just missed out on an Olympic berth, but gets a chance to test themselves against the resurgent U.S. squad on Friday (July 25, 8 pm/ET, ESPN). Led by Kobe, LeBron and Carmelo, the U.S. is looking to improve on the team's bronze medal at the Athens Games four years ago. After Canada, they have four more upcoming games — against Turkey, Lithuania, Russia and Australia — in preparation for Beijing. They open Olympic pool play on Sunday, Aug. 10 against China, live on NBC at 10 am/ET…

• The Arena Football season comes to a close Sunday when the Philadelphia Soul take on the San Jose SaberCats, the defending champs, in Arena Bowl XXII in New Orleans (July 27, 3 pm/ET, ABC).
