Simple Life Calls It Quits

The Simple Life is over for Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. The Aug. 5 episode will be the last for the reality series that featured the rich gals taking jobs and mixing with common folks. Ratings for The Simple Life, which started on Fox back in 2003 and now airs on E!, declined while Hilton's DUI case and subsequent imprisonment became an ongoing cable-news saga. A source at E! said there are no plans to launch a new program with Hilton, citing her recent overexposure. "She needs to take a TV nap," the source said. — Reporting by Stephen Battaglio

Think people finally felt dirty about contributing and encouraging the out-of-control lifestyles of thse two? I don't think it's a coincidence that Lilo's movie tanked this weekend, too.

I don't know about that ctheslayer. Most of the reviews for LiLo's movie were bad that and even with all of the publicity she's gotten no one was talking about this movie at all. It's like it snuck into theaters and is getting ready to sneak back out as well pretty soon. Paris and Nicole both need to take time and get away (same with Brit and Lilo) but that's probably not going to happen as Paris was just at the screening for Rush Hour 3.
