Side Order of Life's Caller ID'd
The real "Cell Phone Man" will be revealed on the first-season finale of Lifetime’s Side Order of Life.
"They said they were looking for a voice that could convey humanity, warmth and a sexy vulnerability — Gilbert Gottfried was unavailable so it fell to me," actor Steven Weber jokingly tells TV Guide.
In the cable net’s Ally McBeal-esque hour-long dramedy, Marisa Coughlan plays Jenny, an ambitious magazine writer/photographer who’s examining life’s purpose with great intensity and a little bit of mysticism.
Since the series’ start, she’s had ongoing philosophical conversations with an as-yet unseen guy on a cell phone.
The series closer has Jenny even questioning her own sanity as she consults with a therapist (guest star Carrie Fisher).
Weber describes Side Order as "unabashedly romantic. There are no explosions and the characters have a vulnerability that is uncommon in television."
The season finale of Side Order of Life, "Funeral for a Phone," premieres Sunday, Oct. 7, at 10 pm/ET on Lifetime. — Reporting by Nadine Mendoza Province

I love this show. It is so fabulous how they support their frind who has cancer. You can really relate & hope that you will be as great if it happens to you as it has to me. I think Jenny's role is great & I love the comic relief when she sees & hears things. One of the best hours on TV.

I really hope he makes a real appearance instead of just being a phone voice. I like Ian Ziering and all but Steven Weber must be it! I knew it all along!

I am so disappointed that Side Order of Life was canceled. I looked forward to watching it every week. It was a refreshing show, with a great cast. It brought a positive side to some of the worst situations in life. Many of us are getting tired of all the mindless reality shows. Isn't one dancing show enough on TV? Lifetime or another network, Please listen to the viewers and bring Side Order of Life back!
