Nicole Richie to Decide on Plea Deal

Nicole Richie will decide today whether to accept a plea deal in her misdemeanor driving-under-the-influence charge, according to an L.A. court spokesman. TMZ reports that Richie’s defense will be based on a claim that the drug tests performed by police at the time of her arrest were flawed.

The Simple Life star was arrested Dec. 11 after she was spotted driving the wrong way on a Burbank freeway. Because of an alleged misdemeanor DUI conviction in 2003, she could face between 90 days and a year in jail and lose her driver's license. Her legal problems may also be complicated by her rumored pregnancy. — Reporting by Marissa Klein
