Private Practice star Kate Walsh was "always very self-assured, glowing," says a friend, but the newlywed "is positively incandescent now."
Walsh, who wed Alex Young on Sept. 1 in Ojai, California, and whose new series bows Sept. 26, is keeping mum about when they'll start a family, even though it seems like everyone is asking the 39-year-old actress if she's pregnant or trying.
"She absolutely wants a family, that's not a secret, but she's not talking about getting pregnant just now, at least not to everyone," the friend adds, "She is super excited about getting their new house set up."
Walsh is happy to talk about the new manse and decorating. This past Thursday afternoon, she visited the West Hollywood White Room, the Emmy Suite of her long-time facialist Kate Somerville, and was more than pleased to receive a gift from ultra-luxurious Beverly Hills bedding company Frette, which shared the front room of the event with perfumers Ajne and denim designers Paige Jeans. The location of The White Room was Sean Connery's former residence.
Walsh also got a facial from Somerville herself (Somerville's estheticians were are work on VIPs and Somerville greeted guests, dished about being excited about the Emmys, and also received the spa's signature "Dermal Quench" and the light-based "DermaLucent" treatments. (The White Room was one of the busiest of the many Emmy suites. Housewives nominee Felicity Huffman was also in for treats on Thursday and former Simple Lifer Paris Hilton was there Friday.)
Walsh was overheard talking about how fun it was going to be to hang out again with her former Grey's Anatomy cast mates on Sunday, and said the group "was very tight, really like a family."
Walsh (a real favorite of the spa's, says a staffer) wouldn't give any details on her Emmy dress. "She wouldn't say who designed it or the color, she said it was a secret, but she was very clearly excited about it." — Reporting by N.F. Mendoza
