Matt Lauer Snags Interview with Senator Larry Craig
Sen. Larry Craig and his wife, Suzanne, are giving their first network interview to NBC's Matt Lauer. The interview will air Tuesday, Oct. 16 (8 pm/ET) on a special edition of Matt Lauer Reports. Portions of the interview will also air on Today the following morning.
The embattled Idaho senator pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in August for lewd sexual activity in a bathroom stall at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. After saying he would likely resign from the Senate, Craig later decided to serve the remainder of his term, which is up in January 2009. — Reporting by Robert Moynihan

Since the Today show has a long history of showing celebrities cooking their favorite dish, I think Matt should get Senator McWidestance to prepare his favorite snack, the Super Tuber!
And no, I am NOT making this up--how could I possibly make up something like this?! That link takes you to a website filled with recipes from Senators and Congresspeople, and the Super Tuber really is a favorite recipe of the disgraced senator's: an Idaho potato with a hot dog wiener shoved inside. It sounds disgustingly vile, but at the time oh so deliciously ironic!

I don't plan to watch it. He's already pled guilty to the charges and now he's back-tracking. Keep this guy in the spotlight for another year because he's doing his party a big "favor" by distracting the public with what's happening with Bush.

So let me see if I have this straight. Senator solicits sex in bathroom. Gets arrested. Pleads guilty and pays fine. Gets criminal record publshed in the Congressional record, sees career going down the toilet (pardon the pun) and appeals his case.
Judge denies appeal saying Senator cannot request an appeal based on the "I changed my mind and want to change my plea because now I not going to get re-elected" defense.
And now he is going on the Today show with Matt Lauer? I have absolutely no respect for NBC, the Today show or Matt Lauer if this is what they consider a newsworthy interview.
It must be a very slow news day at NBC Studios.
