First Look: Rosie O'Donnell Returns to Nip/Tuck

Rosie O'Donnell returns to FX's Nip/Tuck on Nov. 20 as unlucky lottery winner Dawn Budge. This time the hypochondriac millionaire comes to McNamara/Troy for cosmetic help after an altercation with a bald eagle while paragliding. And, in a twist that will no doubt please the ex-View moderator's detractors, the procedure will require Dawn's mouth to be sewn shut.

Dawn will also develop a crush on flamboyant TV producer Freddy Prune (played by Oliver Platt). The roly-poly guy has a penchant for wearing velour tracksuits on the set, a sartorial habit we hear is lovingly modeled after Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry.

O'Donnell is currently booked for two episodes, but she's well liked on the set and could return for more. "She is, as you can expect, hilarious to work with and treats everyone from the cast to the grips with the same amount of respect," says a Nip/Tuck source. "She remembers all names and often blogs from the set. She is a fan of the show and gets excited when she learns of upcoming plotlines."

Season 5 of Nip/Tuck premieres on Oct. 30 on FX. — Reporting by Ileane Rudolph

I agree...I hated her days on The View but loved her as Dawn. When I think Nip/Tuck I also picture the motorcycle riding down the street chopping her ear off just to get the diamond earing...gotta love that show!

I for one can't wait! I agree, I thought she was great as Dawn on Nip/Tuck. And I absolutely love Oliver Platt. This should be great!

Rosie was one of the many reasons why last season of Nip Tuck nearly killed the show. If it wasn't for the fresh start that comes with moving to LA I would have written the show off. Rosie is one of last seasons mistakes, which they should have left behind in Miami. She's as bad an actress as she is (or at least appears to be) a person. We can only hope her return is limited to one episode, but I doubt it.

I thought maybe Rosie was going to be one of those angels from the promos that were carrying their wings rather than wearing them.:)

I am not particularly fond of Rosie, but she does great on the show. Just remember though, a little bit of Rosie goes a long way.
Now to discuss Nip Tuck....I love it. Then doesn't everyone that has a sense of humor. It gets a little rough sometimes, hoping it doesn't go too much further with reality, but I love the characters and the show. I just love it all.
My only complaint would be you don't show enough. The season only gets started, when the next thing I know, it's showing the season finale. Hey if these people don't want to work, pay them more money. Maybe that will entice them to go on with the show.

I LOVE ROSIE I am glad to see her on TV any way possible. Even if it is on that God awful Nip-Tuck. I will watch it to see my Rosie. I go through a little pain for my girl.
