Jon Stewart has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him
behind the desk at Comedy Central’s The Daily Show.

Stewart was previously signed through the 2008 presidential-election season. The new agreement will keep him at the network through 2010. “I love doing the show,” Stewart said in a statement. “I feel like I work for the best in the business. I look forward to using this extension to have great fun at President [Stephen] Colbert's expense.”

Stewart’s deal ends at the same time David Letterman’s pact is up at CBS. Coincidence? —Reporting by Stephen Battaglio
