Joey Fatone Joins Singing Bee

Dancing with the Stars alum Joey Fatone will be hosting NBC's new summer reality show, The Singing Bee, the network announced today. The show debuts July 10.

Bee contestants face the challenge of accurately singing the lyrics to well-known songs in karaoke-style games. Episodes will feature sing-alongs for the audience and encourage viewers at home to join in. The show will include live music by the house band Ray Chew and the Buzz and dancing accompaniment by The Honeybees. — Reporting by Dani Dornfeld

Didn't MTV do a show like this about 10 years ago? I want to say it was called LIP SERVICE or SAY WHAT? KARAOKE. Way to stay ahead of the curve NBC. I love the originality on TV these days. Let's dump new good ideas like STUDIO 60 ON THE SUNSET STRIP and add mindless non-entertainment TV like THE REAL WEDDING CRASHERS and THE SINGING BEE. Hey! I got a great idea for a new reality show... WHO WANTS TO BE NBC'S CHAIRMAN OF PROGRAMMING? I could almost quarantee that show would do better in ratings and probably put better productions on TV! Just a thought!

I could swear I just saw a preview for a show called Don't Forget the Lyrics, I believe it was on Fox?????

And yet my favorite show of the past 2 summer seasons, Rockstar, couldn't find a way to come back. Life sux.

Ooh! I can't wait to see "Who Wants to be NBC's New Head of Programming"! Where I can audition. Studio 60 would so stay on the air. I saw the preview last night for "Don't Forget the Lyrics". Do you think one guy pitches the same show to all the networks and then laughs secretly when they all pay him for his idea?

Yup there is a new show on Fox coming up called "Don't Forget the Lyrics" and don't you just love the originality of our television these days.

this isnt the first time fox has taken an idea from another network and got it out before the network that actually thought of it first. over the years they have been doing it a lot. in fact there was an article bringing it up and in it they even mentioned since it isnt fox idea they put it together and put it out first. usually fox show is the worst of the two.

This means we're never going to see the end of Fatone, doesn't it? Most Annoying Pseudo-Celeb EVER. Okay, maybe Paris Hilton is more annoying. But not by much.
