Harvey Keitel Emerges as Front-runner for Criminal Minds Top Spot

Looks like the mystery surrounding who will replace Mandy Patinkin on Criminal Minds is closer to being solved. Sources tell TV Guide that the producers and the network are in serious negotiations with Harvey Keitel.

While not a done deal yet, this is the closest they’ve come to filling the role. This would mark the Oscar-nominated actor's first series-lead role. —Reporting by Jonathan Small

I think Harvey Keitel would be an excellent choice for MP's replacement. He's a terrific actor and has that standoffish edge the character needs.

If he plays it just a tad darker than the FBI guy Sadusky he portrays in the National Treasure films he would be perfect. No Victor Garber of course but we can't have everything

I think Harvey Keitel is a great choice to take over. I was so dissapointed when Patinkin left, but this is a great actor to fill in the vacancy.

Now THAT would be believeable in that role! Harvey looks like a seasoned profiler, and on top of that is an incredible actor. Hope he goes for it.

Victor Garber Yes!!!!! Harvey Keitel-great. As long as he doen't insist on a nude scene...Been there, (haven't!) done that...

Do not get rid of Mandy Pitikin. he is the primary reason most of us watch the show!

lindadian: One should always speak for themselves and not "most of us". He might have been the primary reason you watched, but he is certainly not that for everyone. And as he CHOSE to leave...we move on. This ensemble is wonderful and can and will survive.

I never did care for Keitel. He seems sleazy and most of his films are that way too.

never really like Harvey but it's better then Gena Daves. Why not a female stepping to take over? What about the actress that played Jorden?

pATINKIN IS A SELFISH PERSON. HE HURT CHICAGO HOPE WHEN HE LEFT, AND PUT A BAD HURT ON THE CAST OF CRIMINAL MINDS. I HOPE HE HAS A TOUGH TIME GETTING ANOTHER JOB. HE THINKS OF ONE PERSON, HIMSELF. I HOPE MR. KEITEL ACCEPTS THE JOB.
