David Beckham may not be able to play for the Los Angeles Galaxy, but that doesn't mean Major League Soccer is going to let its publicity magnet fade away, not while he's being paid a reported $5.5 million annual salary. Sidelined with a lingering knee injury, the English soccer star will provide commentary for ESPN2's telecast of tomorrow's MLS Primetime Thursday match between the Galaxy and Chivas USA (Thursday, Sept. 13, 11pm/ET).

Becks will join play-by-play man Glenn Davis and analysts Eric Wynalda and Tommy Smyth for the call. According to ESPN, Beckham "will discuss a wide range of topics as well as provide some insight on game action."

Honestly, who cares? Soccer will forever be relegated to kids who aren't good enough to play other sports and give up by the time their 10. ofcourse, I suppose it's not impossible the women with the minivans and fat arms might want to stir some excitement with the young ones with his story.
