Dog the Bounty Hunter's Shocking Call to His Son
A tape of Dog the Bounty Hunter star Duane "Dog" Chapman using the N-word in an angry phone conversation with his son Tucker is making the rounds on the Internet. On the call, Chapman is heard using racist remarks during an argument over Tucker’s girlfriend, Monique Shinnery, who is black.
Chapman’s show, in which he and his family chase down criminal fugitives on the Hawaiian Islands, has been one of the most popular on A&E since it began its run in 2004. — Reporting by Stephen Battaglio

so what if he was having a personal conversation with his son about family stuff it not like a black people dont says anything bad about white people or anyone else like cracker, whiteboy, whitebitch, honky, spick, wetback but because its a famouse person they wanna make a big deal about it it still doesnt effect the way hes cleaned up the streets and citys around the us.so i say what someone says is freedom of speech and he and anyone else has the right to say anything about anyone if you dont like the constitution go move to iraq or some country where they will tell you what you can or cannot say

Aah...the voice of intelligent reason makes itself heard once again.
This may be a new concept for you tony3176 but one person's sins don't make another's right.

I think everyone is missing the big picture in that no one person should be put so high on a pedestal that we all think he/she is some kind of God or infallible . The man made a mistake (he is afterall human ) there are people out there who have done far worse . If this is really all we have to worry and fret about then there is really a bigger problem here than a human man using a racial slur. We all have issues that we need to get over . Life is too short .

I have heard the whole tape and I have heard what the media has put out in "clips" and what they have done is take the whole conversation out of context. Yes he is using the "N" word, but he isn't referring to black people, he is referring to the scum bags that he is after and he uses it just like some people use "retard" isn't that just as offensive? The way I see it, as soon as black people stop calling each other that, can the "N" word honestly be taken offensivley as a "Racial Slur" It was meant to be a private conversation to begin with and should have been left that way. I know I would hate for the majority of the US to hear some of my conversations...I may be sentenced to death by the standards of some people. If O.J. Simpson can kill someone then come out with a video game...movie deal and more popularity then what he was before...Dog the Bounty hunter can continue to keep the "O.J's" off the street and use whatever language he wants, it's not like he was a virgin mouth to begin with hahaha! ..and one more thing, no one ever complained about him using the "racial slur" on the show before. but OH NO NOT A PRIVATE PHONE CALL!!!!...WTF America?

The concept of "get over it" is one of the most wrong-headed, overly-simplistic, mean-spirited and unrealistic ones that I have ever come across. If it was easy (if it's even possible) to "get over it" there would never be another psychiatrist, psychologist, therapist, or suicide.
And anyone who can say that the use of the "N" word is harmless in almost any context but especially in one of hostility and anger, which is the way Dog used it, is horribly naieve.
That being said, it is also possible to use the word and not really mean it in the standard hateful sense. But just because you don't mean it that way doesn't mean it doesn't have the same effect. Are you less wounded if hit by an accidental gunshot than by one purposefully directed at you? It's still a gunshot.

there is trash in every race I am so tired of black paople getting so offended of the word when they use it so freely them selves. Dog stated that he was directing it towards her chacter not her color but when its said by a black person, what meaning does it have? its all the same so Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton will get their settlement money and everything will be quiet again until another person has to appologize again. I dont hear anybody appologizing for calling a white person honky, white trash or cracker or a mexican a spick or cheddar or an asian a gook or zipper head etc; but I guess for whatever reason, thats totally different. As far as the criticizm over praying to God and using foul language, God says that we are all sinners and that none should perish and that all should come to Him. God also tells us to forgive one another and to love each other as we love ourselves & that means uncondtionally. We are human and do make mistakes, God knows that- he created us. With all that said, Dog knew he made a mistake and appologized just like Don Imus & Kramer however, it will only be accepted when the check comes in, then all will be forgivin again so who is the real trash? not by color but by character. Finally, this was a private conversation, what ever happend to privacy oh yes and the big one freedom of speech from which this country was founded on?
