Dog the Bounty Hunter Apologizes for Racist Rant Leaked By Own His Son!

Duane "Dog" Chapman has apologized for his racist rant recorded in a phone call to his son, who is dating a black woman.
The bounty hunter says he "has utmost respect and aloha for black people who have suffered so much due to racial discrimination and acts of hatred." Despite his protest that he was taken out of context, Dog goes on further to say, "I’m ashamed of myself and I pledge to do whatever I can to repair this damage I have caused."
Before Chapman’s public recanting, A&E said they have suspended production on his popular reality series, Dog the Bounty Hunter, now filming its fifth season. The network says it will "take appropriate action" after an inquiry into the tirade. — Reporting by Ileane Rudolph
UPDATE: If you've been wondering who taped and leaked Dog's damning tape, it was his pup Tucker, who apparently already was well aware of his bounty hunting dad's hatred for his son's African-American girlfriend. Reportedly Tucker sold the private phone conversation to the National Enquirer for $15,000, which Chapman Sr. learned when he apologized to Tucker and his squeeze. Wonder if anyone was taping that exchange!

doh ! I can not believe that Dog would do this !! This is just wrong and a total turn off, I will never watch Dog The Bounty Hunter again..

what is wrong with people in the world? folks just think they can say anything about anyone and there won't be anything wrong with it. i USED to love watching his show,but that is a MAJOR MAJOR turn off for me.and he calls himself a christian.

First off, I would like to point out that christian's can mess up too - if we were perfect then we wouldn't need Christ. I don't agree with what he said but I can understand the emotion coming behind it. No one can know exactly what was going through his head at that moment; we just know what the media is telling us. I would like to think concern for his son made him say something he didn't really mean (I've lost track of the amount of times I've said something just because I've lost my temper and think saying something will get me what I want. As for the show being canceled (or postponed or whatever) I think that's a shame. I never watched the show, I don't get that channel; but I can't help but feel bad for everyone else that works on the show and is now out of a job. Punish the person (although I'm sure a fractured relationship with his some is enough punishment) but don't punish everyone else that had nothing to do with the incident.

WHAT EVER WAS SAID TO HIS SON, SHOULD NOT EVEN EQUATE MEDAI ATTENTION. I AM NO RACIST. I LOOK A EVERYONE I MEET AN EVALUATE THEM AS A HUMAN FIRST. Nascar car mom needs to actually listen to the tirade. He makes IW and MG look tame and has fallen into Micheal Richards territory. No one black, white,gay or whatever deserves to called out of there name. he says he meant no disrespect but after listening to the comments he truly new he was wrong. I brief part of what he said is posted here. Reallyto little to late, shouldn't have saidit if he didn't mean it.

First Of all, "Dog", You can apologize until you turn black in the face. When it is all said and done the Hatred is in your heart. My half-Asian son is only 4 1/2, yet he understands how the "return" button works.
Perhaps you should get a mixed race person to come by and give you some lessons in spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Though, to be honest, proper English would give your ignorant ramblings an unearned sheen of legitimacy. So go ahead and carry on as you were. It's a lot more entertaining as-is.

I can't believe that anyone is surprised that Dog is racist. Look at him and what he does for a living. I'm not at all shocked that he uses the N word on a regular basis as though it were an innocuous term. I commend his son for doing something radical to change his father's ways.
Dog says he can't have his son dating a black girl, not because of racism but because he uses that word and doesn't want it to get out. Does anyone really believe that if he really wasn't racist he couldn't come up with a different word that wouldn't be perceived as racist? He could trade anything for the N word but he is so enamoured of it that he is willing to destroy a relationship with his son or his son's relationship with another in favor of a word.
Yeah, he's sorry NOW because just as he predicted his career is in jeopardy, otherwise he'd still be doing as he always did and trying to fool the people that watch his show into believing he is just a caring law enforcer rather than a low life, racist, bounty hunter.

Dog is a public figure, but these were not public remarks he made. He made them in private to a family member. It was his son who made them public.
There are many, many people who are closet bigots -- of ALL races. I do not condone Dog's remarks, but he shouldn't be raked over the coals for comments he made in private. His son maybe should be for making them public.
I hope they both get the help they need.

I know they were private thoughts but when a person portends to be so filled with the "aloha" spirit (so to speak), I appreciate when someone is able to reveal that hypocrisy so one doesn't unknowingly follow "false idols" (so to speak). Mahalo to them!
Besides, Dog now says he shouldn't be saying such things in private. So even he thinks what he did was wrong, in or out of the closet (so to speak).

This was said and done in his private time off camera and on his private phone. It should in no way represent his feelings towards all blacks or affect his relationship with his show. It should cause him to dump his little money hungry conniving son from his life. The Enquirer is known for trying to screw up peoples lives. Anyone at that age who does not have a problem with interracial dating is not being honest with himself. This was forced onto us all our young years and is hard to overcome. It is hard on the children of these couples. Not for the parents. He was concerned about what the children of a likely divorce in the future would have to go through.

What nobody on this topic have even mentioned is that the son who sold the conversation, Tucker, had allegedly spent time in jail for drugs, and had fallen back in with the drug crowd.
If that isn't bad enough, the alleged taping was ILLEGAL, due to the fact that it was done WITHOUT consent of all parties involved.
It's obvious to me that Tucker did this clearly as an act of hatred and vengeance towards his dad.
It's about time we learned to check ALL the facts before making judgement. It's also time we learned to use common sense, which is something which almost never happens anymore.

Even though the N-word is GOD-AWFUL, HORRIBLE and I myself would never use it, I do think technology has crossed the line when it allows us to make private conversations public. Just as there are many people who don't use racist language but hold racist beliefs, I'd like to think there are some who've developed the HORRIBLE habit of using racist language but don't really mean it. IT WOULD GO A LONG WAY TOWARD ABOLISHING THE HURTFUL N-WORD if African Americans would quit using it amongst themselves! I do wonder how Dog would feel if anyone called him "white trash" -- not that it's okay to use the WT-word . . .
