Eight months after his allegedly drunken appearance on The View, Danny DeVito has decided to launch his own line of limoncello, the potent Italian lemon liquor he told Barbara Walters he shared with pal George Clooney prior to his controversial interview.
“After that, all of my friends would send me cases of limoncello,” says DeVito with a laugh. “Wherever I went, people would say, ‘Hey Danny, you want a limoncello?’”
His answer? “You bet!”
Now the Italian-American actor, who stars in the half-hour comedy It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, is having the last laugh, thanks to the release of Danny DeVito’s Premium Limoncello. The alcoholic drink will be available at liquor stores nationwide for $23.99 in mid-August.
