CSI Stars Spend a Night at the Museum

You know your show is a pop-culture phenomenon when a museum exhibit opens in its honor. But that’s exactly what’s happened to CSI. All the cast members from the CBS megahit came out to Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry last night to celebrate CSI: The Experience, which opens to the public on Friday, May 25. “This exhibit feels like a pat on the back for a job well done,” says George Eads. After the ribbon cutting, William Petersen, Marg Helgenberger and the rest of the CSI-ers took a tour of the interactive exhibit, where visitors can gather evidence, run tests and crack the case just like the investigators do on the show.

While the cast gushed about the exhibit, they remained tight-lipped about the fate of Sara (Jorja Fox), whose life hung in the balance at the end of the May 17 season finale. “We ended this season with Sara under a car and that’s how we’ll start Season 8,” says executive producer Carol Mendelsohn. One promising sign: Fox, who’s been in contract negotiations with the show, was in attendance last night. Still, she played it coy about her future in the Vegas crime lab. “This is the only time we’ve left it open-ended,” she says. “If I did know, I’d smile and tell you I didn’t. But I hope Sara’s alive and well and back for a sexy Season 8 romance.” And her costars feel the same. “If we find ourselves in the situation that she’s not with us next year, we’ll be in trouble,” says Eads. “There’s only one Jorja Fox.” —Laura Moore

there might only be one Jorja Fox but she doesn't belong on CSI and really doesn't belong in Grissom's bed. If she stays please end the romance, ugh, just the thought of it makes me puke.

I am with you, Cobby. I don't like the Sara/Grissom pairing. I do like Jorja, but the character of Sara is the one character that could leave the show and it not be a big deal. Sorry, Jorja!

No, No, I really disagree! I love the fact that Sara and Grissom have been able to keep their relationship a secret. I think Sara has been a great addition to the CSI team. I, for one, really hope she will be back.

I hope this is a postive sign that we will be seeing Jorja next season. I think this has been one of the most original romances we've ever seen on TV and I'd love to see it continue.

Kudos to TV Guide for the great pictures of the "CSI:The Experience"-and for showing a happy Jorja Fox with her castmates. Here's to some hope for a good outcome to the season finale-and BOO to the two trolls who can't stand seeing a great storyline-two professionals having a personal life! If you don't like GSR-go watch the stiffs at CSI:NY!

Great...guess that means Sara's coming back in Season 8? Just when I was looking forward to a Sara-free season it seems that she'll be back and she and Grissom will still be an item. YUCK! I like Sara as a character but the whole "GSR" thing really turns my stomach and honestly I don't think I'll be tuning in much next season if they focus any more on that relationship which is really a shame since I've been watching since day one and it's one of my favorite shows ever. Is it a crime (no pun intended) to have a show that doesn't have a big romantic byline? Can't it just be about the cases, evidence and the lab like it used to be? For that reason the show was a breath of fresh air for me - if I want a barrage of mismatched relationships I'll watch Desperate Housewives!

I agree, I hope they don't bring her back, I can't stand her, she couldn't act in E.R. and can't act on this show.

2 professionals having a personal life isn't the problem. But when those two professionals are supervisor and subordinate.... big problem.

But enough of the inner fandom bickering. Nice article and pics. George Eads can really rock a suit when he wants to!

I don't post very often, mostly I just enjoy reading, but I have to say something this time! I would miss the role of Sara very much. She is a complex person and the show has never really explored her character. Oh a bit here and a bit there but not the way they should. In comparison it seems like I know everything there is to know about Catherine! How many shows have really focused on Sara anyway? Other then the one where Ecklie suspended her.
As for the romance that everyone is so sick of, I don't see what's the problem. It's not like they show them making out on Grissom's desk or anything! Most of the shows it's just a look or a sentence. How can one line in a hour long show inspire such hatred and nausea? I hope Jorja Fox stays and I hope they continue the romance.

I don't know a darn thing about TV or how long it takes to make one hour long episode but.. isn't it like six months or so? And even if Sara dies *crosses fingers* doesn't Jorja have to come back for Season 8?

I think Jorja is coming back and that most of this was played up. She probably asked for another raise, tried that bs again, but was denied once again and took what she got. I don't think she'll leave the money.

I'm becoming more and more confident that she'll be back. The show just would NOT be the same without her. She is such a different character on tv and her and Grissom's romance is one of the best, if not THE best, I've ever seen on tv. They can get more across in one look than others get when they're making out all over the place. I can't wait!

If her character is alive and she is "back for a sexy Season 8 romance." thats it, I think I will be done. This romance has done nothing except make the character of Sara pathetic.

To be honest, I don't care all that much whether or not she comes back but if she does, I hope they end this romance with Grissom. I just don't see any "chemistry" between those two.

Grissom and Marg Helgenberger's character.... Maybe.

Or Jorja with George Eads.
