CSI: Miami's Cast Talks About Rory Cochrane's Return

Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez) will see dead people — or at least one dead person. As a result of his posttraumatic stress disorder, the CSI: Miami agent will see the ghost of his fallen colleague Tim Speedle (Rory Cochrane), which will, for obvious reasons, send him into a downward spiral. "Delko is doing a good job at masking his trauma," Rodriguez told TV Guide at the CBS Monday Night Season Premiere party on Sept. 19. "But I think [a meltdown] is definitely a possibility."

And while seeing the ghost is bad for Delko, Cochrane’s return is great for the cast. "I’m happy to have my buddy back," says Rodriguez, who admitted last July that he was disappointed when Cochrane abruptly quit in 2004. "It wasn’t the world he wanted to live in. He walked away to make himself happy."

Unfortunately Cochrane’s return is short-lived — he’ll only be on for two episodes. "I feel like he deserves to be here," says Emily Procter, who plays Calleigh Duquesne. "I wish he hadn’t been killed. Maybe just gone to prison [instead]." — Reporting by Carita Rizzo

Cochrane was the best part of the whole show. It has turned into a live action cartoon since he left!

Amen, Ranger. Although I have to admit the over-the-top Horatio moments can be very amusing.

I stopped watching when Cochrane left. He was one of the only people I like on that show and it just want not the same after he was killed.

Just goes to prove that killing off a well liked character can come back to bite TPTB on the backside.

They can be ticked off that an actor is leaving all they want, but they need to consider the reaction of his/her fellow cast members before they kill him/her.

I'm so glad he is only back for 2 episodes. He was so deadpan in his scences which made them very dull.

They could of brought him back full time if they didn't do that dumb storyline about H brother.

I'm glad Rory's coming back. I wish he could show up on the original CSI. I think he and Grissom could dead pan each other with their one liners. If he's worked for Grissom's lab, he would have been more challenged and not so sloppy with his work.

A better story line, IMHO would be for Ryan to disappear a la Tom Cruise masks in MI, and Rory could be back full time!

I quit watching when Cochrane was killed too. There was no one left to balance Caruso's ham-n-cheese deliveries.

I'm glad Rory will be back even if it is for a short stint. It has been fun watching him on the A & E reruns of the show & I am looking forward to his appearance.
However, I am a little confused because I thought in a previous TV Guide issue it said he was not coming back as a ghost & they ( the writers) weren't sure how they were going to explain his presence. Oh well it doesn't matter, him & Adam are good together.
As for this season..it has ROCKED so far esp Mon nite the 8th( that was a heart wrenching epi). I look forward to finding out if Cali & Jake b/come a perm pair, if Ryan will b fully reinstated & what happens to H's son.
Only time will tell ......
