Debi Mazar (Entourage), Aida Turturro (The Sopranos) and Karen Duffy (Dumb and Dumber) are shopping around a syndicated talk show fancied as a New Jersey take on The View, sources tell the Reporter. The line for tickets forms at Exit 143.... Sci Fi Channel has greenlit Revolution, a futuristic (duh) action-drama pilot about colonists of the Earth-like New America fighting for independence from their increasingly hostile homeland, the United State.... Damon Wayans is cocreating a new family sitcom for ABC, one edgier in tone than My Wife & Kids and in which he will star as a widower who takes in the teen stepson he never knew.

LOL, Daesey, you crack me up.
The first thing that popped into my mind was that this idea probably came from them watching "Bronx Beat" on Saturday Night Live. I wonder if they'll be calling the show "Joisey Beat". ;)

But, but, but -- I love Debi Mazar! Her past interviews have shown a biting wit and a pithy way of getting to the point in a short, sharp sentence. While The View often causes me to turn off the set in mid-whatever, this new idea could be good.

Psst, Debi, Aida, Karen, New Jersey is a little more diverse than the, uh, three nearly identical youse.

Don't get me wrong, though, I'm not suggesting they should add Star Jones, Trenton native. But as a New Jersey resident, I gotta say that white chicks with big hair are not, in fact, the bulk of our population. Some of us don't even have big hair. No, really.

(On the purely self-serving level, I like the idea of Aida having a View-y platform since she has rheumatoid arthritis, as do I, and she could raise awareness.)
