Murder Club Snuffs Creators; Big Shots Muzzled?

Women's Murder Club by Andrew Southam/ABC
The end of the strike doesn't mean good news for everyone, mind you. ABC's Women's Murder Club, whose fate seems super-iffy, has let go of three executive producers, including co-creators/co-showrunner Elizabeth Craft — says the Reporter. (Ausiello might want to revisit that "less than 0.015 percent chance of survival" mentioned in today's fresh AA.)

Another of the net's freshman offerings, Big Shots, is "not expected to continue," says the trade. But, reports my dream, Charisma is being spun off onto her own show: "The Comely Stranded Motorist."

I love WMC! I love the chemistry of the characters! They are fun, smart, the women sexy, the men entertaining. Every year I give ABC a chance and every year they cancel a show I love. I hope they do the right thing and give it another go for Fall.

I think it is pretty awful that they let go the people (Sarah Fain and Elizabeth Craft) that created the show. If they are going to keep it, they should continue with those that made it since it seemed like it was just finding itself at the end of the new episodes.

This is not much that passes for "appointment TV" with me, but WMC has an appointment. ABC, don't be silly. Don't cancel this show.

Matt, are there any email addresses for the honchos at ABC, so we can let them know our feelings? I'll take snail mail, too, but email is so much faster.

ABC definitely needs to keep WMC around at least for another run in the fall. I also think that they at least need to give it a chance on a night besides fridays. Why not have it run with Desperate Housewives or Grey's or even Private Practice. I could see the fanbase for those shows also liking the WMC

Good call Champ... that would be great to set it up with one of those shows!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for WMC! It's a fun show. Besides, I think Lindsay's ex is the Kiss Me Not Killer (not really, but wouldn't it be a hoot if it were someone the gang knows?)

Okay, I will be extremely disappointed if WMC goes away for the following reasons:

1) Aubrey Dollar is pretty much amazing.
2) While not that well written at times, it has some of the most quotable one-liners.
3) This show is the whole freaking reason I actually get to spend time with my mother! I do not want that taken away from me. It's one of only two shows we both like (The other being Law & Order: SVU)
