Finale Will Come Down to The Wire for All Fans

Are you one of those impatient sorts who like to "read ahead" and cue up your The Wire episodes before the rest of the class? If so, I have a bit of frustrating news. HBO wants you to know that the series finale, airing March 9, will not be made available via HBO On Demand the previous Monday, as has been the practice throughout the season. In other words, it all comes to an end on March 9, at 9 pm/ET — for everybody.

That's so wrong.

Now for us early watchers that puts two weeks between the penultimate episode and the finale.

Mean trick, HBO.

I'll accept the two week wait... I'm just glad they told us in advanced... for the past 9 weeks I've been up past Sunday midnight to watch it via OnDemand (and staying up til 1:30am Monday morning, being groggy at work the next day)... I would have been even more tick'ed staying up late and waiting for for the finale that won't show up for another week...

Wow - this is really annoying. They said we could see the whole season a week early. Now I have to wait 2 weeks between eps! Bad HBO!

Last season I watched every episode early - but this season I have watched the premiere on Sunday nights, so it does not really effect me.
BUT, I am more upset that there are only two episodes left. EVER!

HaHa You get to wait now for that vacuum sound from your heart on March 10 just like the rest of us. This has been one of the best stories told on television in the history of the medium, - yet no one ever caught up. That is abysmall.

"The Wire" and "Battlestar Galactica" (2004) are so much better than everything else on television it is frightening. The Emmy's screw "BSG" because it is shot in Canada and because its science fiction. There are no excuses for their aversion to this masterpiece.

Frustrating... but not a huge deal, since, like The Sopranos, The Wire has always played out its big dramatic plot points in the penultimate episodes (the death of Stringer Bell, or example). The actual finale will be all denoument and tying up loose ends.... If HBO wants to uphold the tension, they should hold off on the final two eps — now THAT would be infuriating!

I don't care when it airs and long it airs on tv. But no matter what...they still killed my Omar. I can't get over the fact that he went out like that by that punk. Oh my Omar.
