Whoopi's View Will Be Mellow Yellow

When The View launches its 11th season on Tuesday, Sept. 4 — with "special" guest Danny DeVito on hand — new cohost Whoopi Goldberg won't represent the only splash of... something different on the show. An ABC press release says that the talker's set "has been freshened this year with warm hues of yellow — both paint and fabric." Limoncello yellow, perhaps? This was not made clear.

What's more, gone is that cold, icy and apparently acrylic "Hot Topics" table, now replaced with a wooden dais simular to its pre-Rosie predecessor.

Ironically, yellow is Rosie's favorite color. Personally I liked the old sets. I liked the livingroom feel. Hated the set that Ro wanted. It seemed too new-age for my tastes.

Rosie said that they were told the network didn't want to do a new set. Rosie said that they went on vacation and when they came back there was a new set. She said the new set was from AMC using it for the New Beginnings set for Erica Kane. I just hope they replace the couch that seemed so uncomfortable each time they used it. Many guests made remarks about that couch being uncomfortable. A new set isn't going to get me to watch. The View isn't much different from Access Hollywood or any other show of that type. It is used to plug ABC shows most of the time.

I have watched The View, maybe, 3 times and never when loud mouth Rosie was on, I will however tune in occassionally when Whoopi is there.

I'm looking forward to watching the View with Whoopi on it. I really enjoy the show. Hope they get Vincent D'Onofrio to come on as a guest. He really seems comfortable on that show. With the series going to USA network I would like to know what he thinks about it.

Thank God for Mellow Yellow! That bright red and blue were too much--wore sunglasses at times and was reluctant to watch because of it, then when Rosie left, I quit watching altogether! So some "change of color" sounds good to me!

I didn't watch the view but that will change now that Whoopi is cohost. She's a master at dealing with stupidity.

With Whoopi coming on, maybe I'll give The View another chance. (They lost me when Rosie left.) Now if they would only get rid of naive and misinformed Elizabeth, this could really be a show worth watching.

I just wish that The View would get rid of Elisabeth.I can not stand her and her Bush crap.I hope that Whoopi can keep her quiet so we don't have to listen to her crap. I like Whoopi I think that she will be good for the show.Any news on who the other co-host will be?
