During their daily gab session at the beginning of The View, a very made-up cast member of the show Xanadu, a big Broadway homage to the movie of the same name, announced that Whoopi Goldberg would be joining the cast for the month of August.

Whoopi, fresh off a story about playing ball at Yankee Stadium last weekend, said she is thrilled to be joining Xanadu at the Helen Hayes Theater during her vacation from The View. The Whoop doesn't mind skipping her vacation this year, admitting, "If I have vacation time, it's dangerous."

Can't wait to see Whoopi in her frou-frou Xanadu costume? Or could you care less since you live no where near NYC? —Erin Fox

The TV Guide publicity photos; http://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/view/photos/192276 Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Barbara Walters, do not include Sherri Shepherd.

Is this sign of things to come, i.e. Shepherd leaving? I hope.

I don't know when contract renewal time is, but I hope Barbara and the other producers will not renew Sherri Shepherd.

She detracts from the show with her idiotic spasms and ingenuous commentary. She contributes very little of value to the show. All she seems to be versed in is her obsession with her boobs, butt and 'cheating'. Her lack of decorum when a attractive male guest appears on the show belies her self proclaimed 'Christian' beliefs. It seems hypocritical to profess her 'chastity' while making overt sexual comments toward male guests. If a non-attractive male were to make the same comments toward her, she would be the first to claim sexual harassment and call them a misogynist or chauvinist.

As a every day male viewer, I don't always agree with the subject content, especially Elisabeth Hasselbeck's politics, but at least she makes lucid (for the most part) comments and observations. At first I thought Sherri was just trying to be funny and would improve, but time has proven otherwise.

Ditto, nitgrit! But I'd like to see BOTH Sherri and Elisabeth gone!

With Elisabeth--she refuses to see other sides of an issue, especially in politics--and is incessantly cutting off Whoopi, Barbara and Joy. In her eyes, her candidate walks on water and can do no wrong. She's right and everyone else is wrong. What she, and Sherri with her "Hey GIRL!!!!" and sqwuaking, is a muzzle.
