Three-time Oscar nominee Sigourney Weaver is going to shrink Eli Stone, guest-starring as a therapist who helps the loopy lawyer work through his problems, sources tell TVGuide.com.

Weaver — who rose to stardom as an Alien killer and recently co-starred in Baby Mama and voiced a computer in Wall-E — is just one of the big-name guests Stone (Jonny Lee Miller) will meet in the show's second season.

Earlier this summer, the show announced Dawson's Creek alumna and Suri-mama Katie Holmes would sing and dance in one of this fall's new episodes. — Matt Mitovich

Excellent! I think she will fit right in with the cast, and I've been wanting to see Weaver on TV for a while now.

What does this mean for James Saito? I hope Eli's spiritual advisor isn't leaving the show!

Still, I agree that Ms. Weaver will make an awesome addition.

Why fix what isn't broken? James Saito plays the perfect therapist for Eli. This show doesn't need any "stars" to help it along. Although I have nothing against Weaver personally, she doesn't seem to fit in the show to me. I can't really picture her singing and dancing like Victor Garber or Loretta Devine or any of the others on the show. But I am thrilled that Eli got picked up, it's a great show.

You, and I, may like James Saito, however his character is not a licensed therapist. Remember the bar ruling said he had to under go counseling.

I also hope J.S doesn't disappear.

You're right, I forgot that part. I was just happy he woke up from his surgery. Though I'm hoping he still has his visions!

GREAT show!! Very glad to see they are willing to spend big $ to interest more people to watch.
And by the way, I'm sure Sigourney can dance just fine.

I am SO sick and tired of studio execs who feel they know more than I do when it comes to what I like seeing. Since when was Eli Stone in need of a "fix"?
The show is fine as it is. Eli HAS an advisor and does quite well with him.
It must be ABC's turn to display a case of the "Galloping Stupids" this year.
Last year CBS dumps Moonlight - which I still can't bring myself to forgive and now TPTB at ABC are going to fix Eli. Hey you big thinkers at all networks -us all a break and remember this, "If it ain't broke - don't fix it" !

I didn't really think Eli Stone needed any help, the show was perfectly fine the way it was, but whatever --just don't assume I''m a new watcher just because of Weaver

Don't get to worked up guys they said guest-star. As in 1 to 3 episodes or so and she's gone.

Do the commenters remember that it wasn't certain that Eli Stone was going to get a second season? It took ABC forever to decided to pick it up because the ratings weren't great. I'm grateful that they did pick up Eli (it is a great show), and if a short arc by Sigourney Weaver brings in new viewers who'll discover Eli it's all good.
