Valerie Bertinelli Gets Her Own Talk Show
Valerie Bertinelli by Jim Spellman/ WireImage.com
Valerie Bertinelli is getting her own CBS talk show, according to Entertainment Tonight. While the Jenny Craig spokesperson and former One Day at a Time actress might not, at first blush, appear to be a natural for broadcasting, she has actually already been filing stories as a correspondent for Rachel Ray. She held her own in a recent Oprah appearance, where she was promoting her new book, Losing It: And Gaining My Life Back One Pound at a Time. The actress recently lost more than 40 pounds. — Mickey O'Connor

Is the network that desperate that they would employ Valerie Bertinelli? Of late, this skag has written a tell-all book, apparently to once again, put herself in the spotlight. A fading star has to do something to get their name in the news, right? So why not write a book that will embarras the family, including your child. Talking about cheating on your husband, using drugs, etc. Wow. If she were truly tallented in that area, she could have written a book about almost anything else, instead of her personal life.
Why is it that people like her don't consider the ones aroung them when writing "trash myself" books? Why would anyone want to read her book anyway? She wasn't that popular when she was popular. And of course, all the talk shows are having her on to hawk her book. What a morally, degenerate place show business is that would reward someone for talking about their personal life to such an extent, that would include personal information about others as well. She doesn't deserve the air that she breathes. What a slut.

There is something really real and relatable about Valerie Bertinelli that translates on the screeen. She's great. (My copy of her book is on its way from Amazon!)
Daytime talk is a tough racket. There are more failures than successes.
I wish her luck and a good time slot!
Love you Valerie!!!

Valerie Bertinelli getting her own talk show???? This is a woman who has plenty of money yet had Jenny Craig "pay" her to lose wait, which just happened to coincide with her new book -- where she tells us all about her cocaine addiction and other things which no one really wants to know. She certainly is NOT a role model for her son; not a faithful wife and, yet, she wants us to think of her as back in her One Day At a Time personna and watch her talk show?? No thanks. This is one show the public can live without. She has too much baggage -- which Jenny Craig didn't help her lose! She is just a PHONEY!!

I'm not sure it's best to call someone a "slut" when talking about morality. To me she's genuine, but a role model- heck no, but who is? Every family has situations that are less than pleasant. I don't know why she felt the need to write a tell-all, but I do enjoy her and will probably check out her show.

She's certainly no saint, but she would be a welcome change to the single-host typical talk show....in a field populated with middle-aged men and 20-ish former models and one remarkable icon who has a life no one can really relate to, I see an older divorced mom, even though she was married to a rock star, having to start over much more relatable. Just my .02.

"Let those without sin cast the first stone." Where in the job description of a talk show host does it say s/he had to be a saint? As for her son being traumatized by this book, I seriously doubt it. He lived with all that while growing up and he's been touring with his father, so something tells me he's not a naive little boy any more.
I'd also like to know how and what you actually know about Bertinelli's financial status, jabber64. Are you assuming because her name is well known that she's also rich? That doesn't necessarily hold true, especially after a divorce.
It's so easy to sling those stones when you don't know the person at all, isn't it?

So anyone who loses a lot of weight should get their own talk show?

What animosity coming from MOanbo and Jabber! What did she do? Turn you guys down for dates or something to write with such hatred about her?
Valerie Bertinelli was America's sweetheart in that Heather Locklear way. And the way we treat celebrities these days, practically running them over to get a scoop, why shouldn't she put her own dirty laundry out there and profit from it instead of letting someone else?
You go girl! You look better than ever. More power to you.

This will just be another one to dump into the Talk Show Junkyard along with so many other "celebrity" hosted chat fests. But I guess it can't be any worse than Megan Mullaley's right? Right???? Please let me be right!!!

FYI>>> Valerie was a top choice for the job Kelly got with Regis. Anyone recall the many women on camera with Regis will remember she did VERY WELL along side Regis.
Go Val!

Good for Valerie Bertinelli! I'm glad to see her back on tv..she's been gone way too long! It's nice that she lost weight, but frankly, I didn't see much evidence that she'd gained much over the years!
