Update: Simpson Goes Blonde in Eight Theaters

Jessica Simpson's ambition to be a marquee movie star somewhat ironically has been derailed by her Blonde Ambition — as in the romantic comedy she lensed with Luke Wilson. The pic, which a source described to Us as "absolutely horrible" and "a bomb, mainly because of Jessica’s acting," is being released directly to DVD on Jan. 22, says the weekly.

UPDATE: A studio spokesperson tells People that Blonde Ambition will get a theatrical release on Dec. 21 — in eight theaters in Texas.

Who thought Jessica Simpson would be a talented actress...the same person that thought her sister has talent and jessica can sing?

That Nick and Jessica show created a monster. She would have been long gone in the Where are They Now? shows on VH-1 if it wasn't for that idiotic newlywed show. Now we have to endure this talentless family for years until her manager/dad has drained every bit of life out of her and her sister's pathetic careers!

I actually watched the trailer for this mess of a movie and it was terrible. There was no hiding that she was completely horrible!

Jessica, stick to selling hair extentions on HSN.

I don't know why they thought she'd be great as a movie lead, her other movies already bombed and the US doesn't think of her as America's sweetheart anymore (not that she really was anyway).
Now she's trying country music to ride the coattails of Carrie Underwood. She's trying different things because the other things she's tried have failed.

Does any one watch Jessica for her acting? NO! They watch her because she is H-O-T! Sorry Jess but it is true. I know it will be on my Netflix for that reason.

but, kelel, there are so many beautiful actresses who can act! Why give her false hope by supporting her career? Can't you just buy a poster and ogle her on your wall? :^O

Jessica actually has quite a set of pipes, but it's always been overshadowed by the lackluster fluffy pop she can't seem to steer away from and her moronic personality.

Who cares about Jessica Simpson? I'm more worried about Luke Wilson. Who is making his film choices these days? "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" and now this? Bud, the quirky independent movies will carry you only so far. Be more careful about your "mainstream" scripts & co-stars!

Sounds like Blonde Ambition's getting the Zyzzyx Rd. treatment possibly due to SAG regs. (Though, I doubt the movie will make more than $20.)

Dianora, Jessica Simpson doesn't have nearly the pipes that SHE thinks she has. The way she emotes and forces her voice to go silent momentarily within a note...it's as though she thinks she's Mariah Carey (and don't get me started on THAT train wreck!), but she's just not that good.

I think Jessica will be okay. I ran into her this morning, but she couldn't stop to talk, because she said she was rehearsing for her next audition! Then she closed her eyes, concentrated real hard and then went into character:

"Would you like FRIES with that?"
"Would YOU like fries with that?"
"Would you like fries WITH that???"

SIMON McDONALD-COWELL: "That's enough, dear. Time to make the doughnuts! Good day!"
