Ugly Betty will be revving up production again, but with a pared-down production roster. The ABC show let go of executive producers Marco Pennette and James Hayman on Monday, THR says, although the studio did not confirm.

It's expected that we'll get at least four more fresh eps out of Betty this season, plus the series was just renewed for its third year. Shake-ups aren't new for the show, however. Between its first and second seasons, five writers were axed. Despite the behind-the-scenes reorg, though, three of the original producers — Silvio Horta, Salma Hayek and Jose Tamez — are still on, and and getting ready to serve up fresh eps. — Anna Dimond

ok. something is very rotten on this set; that they would fire these two guys. Something very nasty is going on there...it has to be. I checked their credits on IMDB.com and they seem to be incredibly talented guys. The other exec producers have mediocre credits. Something doesn't make sense here. You don't change what's not broken!
Last season, they fired the casting people, which was insane. But, those casting people got their sweet revenge, by winning the Best Casting award on the Emmy's last year...AFTER they had been fired.
I'm sure these two guys are going to have much more success than this silly show.
But, I'd have to question the show's lead, or other exec producers, or the shirts at Disney, but someone has put a real nasty stamp on what I thought was a perfectly fun show. I just bet this show will suffer greatly, and probably end next year.
I think after so many months of a strike and after so many people suffered because of it, the mere fact that ANYONE would get fired after all of that, tells me PLENTY about the undercurrent of Ugly Ugly Betty.

I am glad this show is revamping. The once sweet Betty/Henry relationship has degenerated into the old stale Betty/Walter relationship thanks to the forgetable love triangle with annoying pint-sized Gio. The whipped cream love scene with Henry and Betty was depressing and widowed Hilda has no edge. They should have sent Santos to jail and given us Angry Hilda instead of dead Santos and Weepy Hildaa. A living but jailed Santos would liven Hilda's storyline. Overall the show's watchability has hovered between Passions and the Anna Nichole show, so any change the producers make can't hurt or make it any worse than it is.
