Ugly Betty Steals Liz Lemon's Boy Toy
Val Emmich courtesy NBC
Remember the sweet young thing who led 30 Rock's Liz Lemon to be branded a cougar (and made bespectacled Frank "gay for Jamie")? Well, he now is about to catch the eye of one Miss Betty Suarez. Val Emmich has been cast on ABC's Ugly Betty in the recurring role of Jesse, a potential new love interest for our braces-boasting gal, says the Reporter.
Emmich also had a limited run (as did, well, everyone) on Cashmere Mafia. — Matt Mitovich

ok that's enough... betty was lucky enough to get henry (who she obviously is going to throw away for gio.. ugh!) and now a whole other person? this show is really treading the line into unwatchable for me. why get invested into any relationship she forms? it's just going to end in 10 episodes...

Don't the writers and producers know by now that the details of Betty's love life are the most boring aspect of the show?

Wow...talk about mixed feelings. I was a huge Henry/Betty shipperbut really came to appreciate Gio when Henry turned into a bit of whimp. So any word on how this will impact Gio/Betty's storyline -- they are bringing back Freddy, right?

Speaking of braces, when the heck is Betty going to get hers off? Isn't it about time?

I am not liking this man hopping aspect of Betty. She's young, I know, but come on....grab Gio and run Betty.

I assume this is necessitated because Christopher Gorham doesn't want to uproot his family to NY. Still, if Henry's making an exit (mixed feelings there), than another love triangle isn't exactly what I want to see. Just get them together and throw a few curveballs.
That said, I think it's awesome that a character like Betty has an active dating life. Times were, she'd have been the lonely best friend or would have been expected to date guys "on her level." This is why I continue to enjoy watching and appreciate UB.

How long are they going to keep the braces on this girl, till she retires? Normal people have them removed by now. this is getting real old, take them off already, they can still make her ugly via makeup. How do you folks feel about this or am I the only one?

Another love interest? I know shes young and naive but come on. Betty should be with Gio. Henry is a great guy but he a baby now and needs to focus on his son. Bond with his son, don't marry Charlie. Gio brings out another side of Betty which I like a lot. The more fun and helping Betty get out of her shell.
I hope they bring back Freddie.

Tooooo many suiters. Settle on one for a while instead of the revolving door. You get to like the guy and then...BAM, he is gone!

I agree. The last thing the show needs in another man for Betty. I was the biggest Henry/Betty shipper out there and I know there were many others. We all need time to get over Henry!
BTW, anyone know if Christopher Gorham has landed another show yet?

TV guide, you shouldnt tell us in May or June that Chris Gorham didnt want to relocate to New York because that kind of tells the viewers what Betty's answer was on the proposals from when the show left in May. Why didn't you just leave us in suspense? Sure, I still want desperately to see the next season but it blows some of the suspense. I'm just agitated because now their adding a new guy to the dating scene and it doesnt give Gio much of a dating life with Betty. She has more dates in one year than I do. That sucks! She makes life sometimes look like a fairytale. The writers should make it a little more believable!
