Well, I guess we now know one of the candidates Lucas didn't invite to Vegas. Michaela McManus (aka One Tree Hill's Lindsey) is joining the cast of NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as the new assistant district attorney, effective with this fall's Season 10. McManus will play the ADA assigned to the Special Victims Unit, thus following in the footsteps of predecessors Diane Neal and Stephanie March.

McManus, who attended NYU's graduate acting program, had a recurring role as Linsey Strauss on OTL.

Did she actually attend any of the classes? She was horrible on OTH (not OTL)B-)

On behalf of Anna, I would like to ask all of our readers for their forgiveness for the 45 seconds that the story briefly read "OTL" instead of OTH. Any anger, confusion or migraines stemming from that short-lived typo, please direct at me, as it ultimately is my responsibility as editor of the news blog. Thank you. — Matt

Well she couldn't be any worse than Elisabeth Rohm on the mothership.

And I guess this means Lucas didn't pick Lindsey.

Wow. We can finally say goodbye to Lindsey!!! I guess this means Lucas didn't call her. Best news ever. I wish her all the best.

But can she ACT?

I never watched OTH, so I'm not familiar--can anyone give me an idea whether I'll like her or not?

Thanks.

Yet another blonde? Let's shake it up a little!

Is this character going to be as whiny as the one on OTH?

Dianora: "Yet another blonde?"

Hey Di!

I can go one better--why not a male ADA?

Just wonderin'

We gotta give Olivia some female companionship!

In all seriousness, good point! I don't watch the other L&O shows, do they ever have male ADAs? The few I can think of being mentioned have all been female (ie - Elizabeth Rohm)

I have no idea who this person is, since I haven't watched OTH for the past two seasons. I hope she doesn't ruin the show! We'll see...

Actually...yes. For the first three years, the original show had Richard Brooks, who played Assistant ADA Paul Robinette (in later years, they had him come back as a defense attorney--which I HATED), along with Michael Moriarty's ADA Ben Stone, who was then replaced by Sam Waterston's Jack McCoy (who's now the D.A.). Criminal Intent had Courtney B. Vance, who they got rid of a couple seasons ago, so now they don't even have and ADA or Assistant ADA.

Now the mothership has Michael Cutter, played by the yummy Linus Roache and his assistant, Rubirosa, played by Alana De La Garza (she was Horatio's wife who got killed in CSI: Miami in season 4).

So, in my convoluted answer, yeah, there have been male Assistant to the ADA or whatever their titles are, lol.

No male ADAs. And only once did we have a female in the lead (Dianne Wiest during her understated, brilliant run - when is she NOT good?). It would be nice to see the formula shaken up a bit, but more than that - I'd like to see some better scripts when it comes to SVU. The cast deserves much better than the scraps they're feeding on lately.
