Tracy Morgan: "I Want to Reach Out to Lindsay Lohan"

30 Rock star Tracy Morgan is reveling in his own post-DUI sobriety so much, he wants to share his new focus with fellow drinker-and-driver Lindsay Lohan. Following a Thursday sentencing for his Nov. 28 arrest, Morgan said he has been speaking to high-school kids about the dangers of DUI, and their reactions "helped me want to stop drinking," the Daily News quotes him as saying. "I feel great in my sobriety, and I want to reach out to young people like Lindsay Lohan and let them know there are people that care."

Translated: LiLo's "comeback" will now be in the form of a 30 Rock guest gig.

Y'know, Matt, that's probably not that unlikely. She's already worked with Tina Fey in Mean Girls and on SNL, and what better way to have a comeback than by 30 Rock? You know Tina Fey would write her something good. And also maybe not too far from the truth. :D

Glad that Tracy is getting his act together.

As for LiLo's "comeback" as a guest on 30 Rock...will that show even still be on the air then?! I think it will be sometime before she gets HER act together. I'm just sayin

Have you noticed that all the people "reaching out" to LiLo are mostly middle aged men? Daniel Baldwin, Tracy Morgan... hmmmmm... maybe they want to reach out and touch something, uh, someone?

Icky...

When I read the quote, I pictured it coming from Tracy in character and it was, well, not...wholesome.

I don't know if he would be the right one to help her. He is in Chicago to do a stand-up date this weekend in the area and he was acting extremely erratic on the morning news that he was on. I know he is a little strange but it seemed a bit over the top today.

Tina Fey's already attempted at least a couple of interventions with LiLo while she (Fey) and Morgan were still on SNL. So it's not surprising to me that Morgan is (commendably, IMO) trying to reach out to the very troubled Lohan.

It seems to me that Hollywood types regard her as an engaging person with tremendous, undeniable talent when she's sober and feel like she's one, like Robert Downey, Jr., that they're going to do their darndest to try to help. IMO, since Morgan's reaching out to her, more power to him as IMO it's clear that through him and Fey, Lohan has a better, real family within the SNL alumnis' part of the showbiz community than she'll ever have with her biological family.

Good points, Rob. I agree that Hollywood is more forgiving of people with real talent than the celebutantes and wannabes. I also agree that certain people who want to help her, maybe not limited to the SNL bunch, are acting more in her interests than her parents are. I pity not only Lindsay, but her siblings, as well.

While I think TM's motives are noble, I believe too many recently-rehabbed people take the euphoria they feel about being "clean" and try to use it to help others when they are still only learning to help themselves. In my opinion, rehabbers need to stay away from each other as much as possible. (Of course, in the world of showbiz, it seems that would necessitate putting almost everyone into solitary confinement.)
