Tom Cruise Bio Slammed as "Vicious and False," "Disgusting and Sick"
Tom Cruise by Theo Wargo/WireImage.com
Andrew Morton's Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography might as well be sub-subtitled "The Plaintiff's Exhibit A," as the inflammatory and reportedly shoddily sourced "tell-all" has drawn immediate fire from the movie-star camp. Among the author's more outrageous claims: Suri was not sired by Tom but rather the result of Katie Holmes being "impregnated with [Scientology founder L. Ron] Hubbard's frozen sperm," a scenario the author likens to "a real-life version of Rosemary's Baby." (And it sounds like it'd give a gal one of those ice-cream headaches.) The book also reheats tales of how the Sci guys pressured Cruise to split from Catholic wife Nicole Kidman. Cruise's rep calls the tome "a vicious and false attack on a man, his religion and his family," and singles out the Rosemary's Baby comparison as being particularly "disgusting and sick" — so much so that lawyers for Cruise as well as the Church of Scientology are mulling a $100 million lawsuit against Morton and publisher St. Martin's Press.

You know what, as weird as Tom Cruise has become over the past few years nothing surprises me. I use to actually like to watch his movies, until he started jumping on couches and and declaring how great and fantastic Katie, sorry Kate is, BARF!! And he had the nerve to bust on Brooke Sheilds for taking antidepressants. Maybe Tom needs a visit from Dr. Phil also or maybe beam him up to his home planet, far away from a movie screen.

I agree with you, Swaga. While I wasn't a fan of all of his movies, I enjoyed MI 1 and 2. Three was a horrific mess (script, directing, acting); I could have over looked those things if he hadn't shown himself to be so unhinged.
Old movie stars had the right idea about keeping their private lives private. I really don't care about an actor's religion, beliefs or politics, sexual orientation or escapades. Movies were a time for me to get lost for 2 1/2 hours. Now, instead of being able to enjoy the acting, I'm thinking about the weird things the actor has done or is doing.
And yes, I know the public is guilty for wanting to know some of these lurid details. However, some actors have found a way to keep the mystery about themselves and we aren't inundated with news of their vagina flashing, stints in re-hab or numerous romantic affiliations.

Its almost as if Cruise wanted this book written with so many really wild stories so people wouldn't believe the other stories about him that are making the rounds. Such as his falling out with Steven Spielberg and Suri being the child of Katie's musican boyfriend who didn't want children and left when she became pregnant. And of course all the stories about Tom and his early adventures in Hollywood. I would love to know if the stories about him approaching other women before Katie took the deal were true. These are all over the internet but this book doesn't mention any of them, only wild rumours you know don't sound possible.

It's common knowledge and has been for years that most everything in the book is accurate (except for the Rosemary's Baby stuff but that might be true as well, who knows). Tom Cruise is a sick person belonging to a sick cult. Tom actually interviewed 4 starlets before settling on Holmes. She has a contract and she is going to make a lot of money. It's completely perverse.

Pffhht! I nearly choked on my water laughing. I won't tell you about the disturbing visual that gave me. (But it does involve Tom Cruise in a Good Humor uniform.) Good one, Matt! You're off to a nice start this week.

LOL oh my - I cannot even begin to imagine what the book must be like. I too enjoyed Tom's movies but since his bashing of psychiatry/psychology I refuse to watch him or anything he is involved in. While I respect a person's right to pursue their religion and voice their opinion his personal attack and ignorant ranting is unacceptable on all levels.

Why would the Church of Scientology as well as Tommy Cruise-Holmes, would try to defend lies. If it is not so, then let it be. You only defend or get upset if the statements are true! As for Nicole Kidman, Tommy got tired of her and he feeling old wanted a young child to be his wife, cause a mature woman of Kidman's class was just too much for him to handle. She is better off without Tommy. He will be leaving Katie soon, once she grows up and comes out of the fog of being Mrs. Tom Cruise.

isiah66, Cruise's first wife (Mimi Rogers) was 6 years older. His second wife was 5 years younger. His current wife is 16 years younger. Maybe he's just trading in for the current model every so often. Wouldn't be a first.

allegedly, per medical folks in CA, Tom had a severe crush injury to his genitals as a young man. He would have been infertile. Artificial insemination is an easy way for a woman to become pregnant, with donated sperm. The baby certainly looks exactly like Kate.

They should go ahead with that lawsuit. If they win, it'll probably be more than his movies have taken in in a while.
It just amazes me that you've got nutjobs like this guy, and then there are other Scientologists who just cruise (no pun intended) under the radar. John Travolta and Kirstie Alley are both followers, but you don't see them in anyone's face about it. If you're a believer, then BELIEVE, don't be some sort of missionary and try spread your crap.
Which brings up an interesting point. How widespread are the Church of Scientology's "efforts" to recruit membership in impoverished areas? I guess if you can't afford it, they don't want you.

Why is Scientology so frightening to so many.....I see a witch hunt here and it isn't pretty.
I think Tom jumped on the sofa/couch because he was/is in love. How refreshing in the day and age of lying and cheating. It's ok to puch your wife/girlfriend but not ok to jump on a couch?
His work speaks for itsself...has he ever made a bad movie. Does he let his fans down? Do you ever hear of him treating the "little guy" badly?
He gave his opinion of Brooke unasked. Poor choice but not evil. His opinion. Based on a childhood problem and his mother's choice of treatment as well as his research. Not so bad when thought out. Brooke forgave him..so why can't the rest of you?
Come on. Grow up. Give the man and his family space.

isiah66, that sounds like some whacked out Scientology idea to me. If you really believe that, then perhaps you need some help yourself. By your own logic you'll only respond if its true that you do need help. I mean seriously that's just an absurd statement.
If you're a believer, then BELIEVE, don't be some sort of missionary and try spread your crap.
AStef, I assume that applies to all missionaries of any religion, not just Scientology. Otherwise there are words for that belief. Words like bigotry and discrimination.
For the record I think Tom is a world class nut job, but really people, think about what you say before you say it because you sound just as absurd as Tom.

I can't even sympathize with Tom Cruise. He always acts like he's so hot and gorgeous, and he's not. I don't actually know what Nicole and Katie ever saw in him. He thinks his word is GOLD, and he thinks he is so cool!! He's not, and I feel sorry for Katie Holmes to be stuck with such a loser, who sues everyone who says something bad about him. I guess that's how he earns most of his money for himself and for his Scientology "church".
