Tom Cruise and Oprah's Couch to Reunite Next Week
Oprah Winfrey and Tom Cruise by Jon Furniss/ WireImage.com
Insert couch joke here. Tom Cruise returns to Oprah next week for a two-part visit, his first appearance since frolicking on her sofa two years ago.
For those of you new to civilization, Cruise acquainted himself with Oprah's couch in manic celebration of his relationship with then-girlfriend (and now wife) Katie Holmes. (Look back at the craziness here.)
Oprah will first interview Cruise from his house in Telluride, Colorado, on May 2 (does Katie let him walk on the furniture at home?), and then he'll appear in the studio on May 5.
Note to Oprah's couch: You've been warned. — J.R. Whalen

Good, I can hardly wait. I love Tom Cruise and love the fact that he is such a humanitarian with helping the Katrina victims and the victims of 911.
What I also love about him, is he just keeps surviving despite vicious attacks over and over again. He keeps his head held high, and brushes them aside like the annoying gnats that they are.
I'm looking forward to this. I never watch Oprah, but will tune in for this.

I admit --- I still haven't forgiven Cruise for his postpartum/antidepressant/vitamin remarks, but I probably will tune in. Does anyone know why he's coming on Oprah? (and for two days?) I didn't think he had a movie to promote. Is it for a charity or a special cause?

Im not sure but I think she got a new couch after that incident. And Stace I also haven't forgiven him about his postpartum/antidepressant/vitamin remarks.

WOW! Really I almost feel bad for him. People have turned on him. People will tune in to see what kind of freaky things he says and does. He should probably just retire and enjoy his family.

Stace - its been 25years since Risky Business and I believe that is why he's going on Oprah.
i have never really forgiven him for his anti-depressant rant either. He's entitled to his own opinion but to insist that his opinion is fact - and that he, a Hollywood actor, thinks he "knows" the history of psychiatry is laughable - was beyond narcissistically egotistical. Like a true celebrity, he thought it was his way or no way.

Do the do sweeps in daytime tv like they do in prime time? If so then it's nothing more then a sweeps stunt. The man's turned into a raving lunatic.

I think he is delusional. His "church" blows so much smoke up his ... that he doesn't know what is up and what is down.
I'm sorry - was I being "glib"?

Yes, you were, but a little exercise and some vitamins, and I'm sure you'll be fine again.
No, wait, that's the cure for post-partum depression. Darn.

Actually, it was three years ago, I remember because I'd just moved into my new apartment, had dvr'd the program because I was so excited--he hadn't been on Oprah since Interview With a Vampire. The first thought that popped into my head when he began his "I looooove you! I loooooove life!" was: 'what's he on?'.
And I, too, have not forgiven him for his anti-depressant rant, or that "vitamins" are the only way to treat depression--like he knows. Where's your bloody medical degree?
I could go on and on, but that would take away from what this blog is about.

dalin345, what did he do for Katrina victims? I'm not sure I ever heard his name mentioned and I paid close attention to most of those stories since I'm from New Orleans originally. Just curious.

Dude. Is. A. Loon. And his movies have been on a mostly downward trend since A Few Good Men.
And I think I saw somewhere that she may actually be the antichrist...

Thanks for the info, Sharipep. I thought he might be doing something like Julia Roberts did, since he didn't have a movie to promote, but the anniversary celebration fits the picture.
People will tune in to see what kind of freaky things he says and does.
Sadly, yes. I feel like if he continues to put himself out there for public consumption, I shouldn't feel bad about continuing to watch it. I am glad, though, that he is going on to promote one of his classics instead of a recent movie. Maybe then, the discussion will be less crazy, gossip-filled and scientology-oriented.
