TNT Pulls Plug on Heartland, Eyes Thief Drama

TNT has taken Treat Williams' Heartland off the donor list after nine episodes. The med drama opened with poor retention of lead-in The Closer's audience, and only waned further when it got bumped to an 8 pm slot. Its audience also skewed a bit old for Madison Avenue's liking.

Looking ahead, says Variety, TNT has greenlit production on Leverage, a pilot directed and produced by Dean Devlin (The Librarian) and concerning a team of high-tech thieves who target wealthy crooks, corrupt power brokers and slimy politicos. Ooh, it's as if Robin Hood watched those few episodes of Smith!

I was afraid it had been cancelled. I was looking for it the last 2 weeks. I really liked it. It was a little different but entertaining. I wonder if they will run off the remaining episodes sometime. Matt?

Heartland was okay. I did have to work at staying awake while watching it! Leverage sounds like just my thing!

They only made 9 episodes, there aren't any episodes to run off. It was a good show, though. I wish it'd have stuck around, it was nice to see Treat Williams in another show. :(

I liked it. It needed work but I thought the last 2 episode were much improved from the beginning.

Treat Williams is a wonderful actor and a pretty decent singer. I really enjoyed the episode that showed off both of his talents.

Leverage sounds like a rip off of Thief with Robert Vaughan

I was one of the people that liked the show. I liked the complete line up on Mondays. Of the two I would have canceled Saving Grace first! I don't think they gave the show a chance to find it's audiance. I ended up taping Law and Order before I realized it was not coming back. TNT you have a lot more shows that need to be canceled first.

I am getting really pissed off at these networks for pulling great shows. It is beginning to happen much too often. What can viewers do to stop it??????

I don't know why you took Heartland off. It is was a great show. I hope you bring it back. I don't understand why you don't let the audience decide, maybe on a survey whether shows should be deleted or not. You rely too much on that Nielsen survey. You need other surveys besides, the Nielsen group.
