Strike May Turn MySpace Series into an NBC Hit
Quarterlife goes on... on NBC? While the Peacock had no comment, sources tell the Hollywood Reporter that the network is in talks to acquire Edward Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz's high-profile Web series Quarterlife — which premieres this Sunday on MySpace — to serve as a gap-filler once the writers' strike begins thinning down fresh prime-time offerings.
What's the 411 on Quarterlife? As luck would have it, TVGuide.com posted a feature on the MySpace serial just this morning. Check it out.

Doesn't NBC own USA Network? I am all for them running Psych episodes (& of course Monk for those fans) during the strike. It could end up helping both of those shows when all is said and done.

jayhawk, I would LOVE for NBC to air those shows! I love them both and more of them is a good thing. The shows really don't get old for me, no matter how many times I've already seen them.
And the myspace show has Cappie in it! I'll have to check it out. CAPPIE!! I love greek.

Aren't both of those guys in the WGA?
Even if NBC bought the rights to show the ones they have (which would probably be regarded as fairly scabby by other WGA members), wouldn't they not be able to create more episodes beyond what they already have without violating the strike?

Leah - I love me some "Greek" also!
minderbinder - I meant re-running the shows on NBC to see if they can get them some more exposure. I would certainly watch re-runs of the first two seasons of Psych. I believe NBC already owns the rights to these shows if NBC owns USA. I have seen networks and their cable counterparts exchange shows a many time.
