On Stage: An Idol Musical, Sorkin's New Invention
The self-explanatory (although probably unnecessary) Idol: The Musical, a satirical comedy about a "cult-like club that meets daily in a garage that doubles as a shrine to Clay Aiken," opens off-Broadway next month. Apparently, it earned raves in Syracuse. Seriously.... Licking his wounds after the whole Studio 60 debacle, West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin trades the small screen for the stage when The Farnsworth Invention hits Broadway this fall, says Playbill.com. Previously seen at the La Jolla Playhouse, the drama — about the (glorious) invention of the TV set — marks Sorkin's return to the Great White Way after almost two decades. — Reporting by Raven Snook

LOL Clay does have a stellar voice. I hope the show is favorable to him and doens't come off negatively - he seems to be a whipping boy when it comes to negative press.

"...the whole Studio 60 debacle" ???
For the last time people (this means you "professional" critics as well) THIS SHOW IS NOT 30 ROCK !!!!
Many viewers and critics seem confused as to what the show is supposed to be. It is a drama, not a comedy, and a damn fine one at that. It is about what goes on BEHIND THE SCENES of an SNL type show. The focus is not the comedy, though I have LMAO repeatedly watching this show.
The writing is fantastic and Matthew Perry and Sarah Paulson deserve Emmy Nominations - the real ones, not your TV Guide delusional Dream ones.
I, along with about 5 million others, will miss this finally produced show after it's last episode airs this week.
