This Christmas, it's going to cost you four Benjamins to indulge the Sopranos fan in your life. A 30-disc boxed set featuring all seven seasons plus two bonus DVDs has been slapped with a $399.99 price tag. Among the extras in the 10-lb. package, available Nov. 11: An interview with series creator David Chase, conducted by Alec Baldwin; three soundtrack CDs; and a pair of featurettes in which cast members sit down for dinner to reflect on their favorite scenes and what not.

But a special Champagne room dance from one of the Bada Bing! girls? That's gonna cost ya extra, honey. — Matt Mitovich

Ya know, who cares about the interview and such. For $400 they should give us the bonus of what happened after the ender went to black!

$400 isn't bad, when you consider the list price of each individual season is about $99. At least, that's what it was years ago when I first got into the show. At that price, I Netflixed instead.

Oh lawdy, what to do? The Sopranos DVD box set or fill up my car tank with gas? Hmm. Both cost the same these days, so which one? Choices, choices.

The Sopranos, the most overrated show in the history of television. Now commensurately overpriced, too.

I agree DS9Sisko! I recently just started watching The Wire on DVD and this show blows The Sopranos out of the water.

I DID NOT WATCH IT ORIGINALLY BUT STARTED WITH SHOW #48 THAT IS NEAR THE END OF SEASON 3. I HAVE SET MY DVR TO RECORD ALL AND I AM WATCHING THEM IN ORDER FROM 48 FORWARD. TODAY I AM WATCHING # 59. I PAID $120 FOR THE COMPLETE OZ SET AND THOUGHT THAT WAS QUITE A BIT, BUT NO WAY WOULD I PAY $400

$400? Pretty obscene...

big deal - that is what we star trek fans have paid for full season box sets - it is pretty standard for a full series set if it ran for several years.

DVDs are obsolete, who cares? What about the Blu-Ray set, Huh? Huh??

guinnessgulper, DVDs are far from obsolete. Until BluRay players and discs are reasonably priced DVDs will not be obsolete and even then it will take time before they overtake DVDs in sales.

As for this release, unless David Chase is going to explain why he metaphorically jerked off all over the fans with that lame non-ending ending and give us a proper ending $400 is about $400 too much.

Tey are out of their ever-lovin' mind. Seen one mafia type show/movie you've seen tem all.

I'd rather spend that $$$$ on something worth while like groceries and a gym membership.

I couldn't care less about The Sopranos. Where is my complete series set of The Wire?

Did they consider the fans who have already purchased the first SIX SEASONS? What are their options/alternatives?
