Buoyed by its new post-Dexter berth — on Nov. 18, it hit a series high of 651,000 viewers — Brotherhood has been renewed by Showtime for a third, eight-episode season. Maybe now the cast of The Sopranos will stop making fun of the show's stars for only having a Peabody Award. — Ben Katner

The Sopranos was by far a superior show, but I enjoy watching Brotherhood very much and I, for one, am glad it is being renewed, if only for 8 episodes. After all, I have to have something to watch now that the Sopranos is over!!!

It is great news, but the one thing I am getting frustrated about are these little hidden agenda's regarding most of the characters on the show. The writers need to create an emotional tie in with some of the main players. That's what made the Soprano's a more appealing show. When Tony opened himself up to his therapist, his wife and his friends you got to know where he was coming from. Not so on Brotherhood. They fail to show or discuss any back history. Not one of these characters gives me an emotional bond the way I had with Tony Soprano. When and if these writers ever get back to work, they need to make that investment with these characters.
