Short Cuts: A Closer-athon, Murder and More!
On Thanksgiving Day, starting at 8 am/ET, TNT will air all 13 freshman-season episodes of The Closer. The Kyra Sedgwick starrer wraps up Season 2 with a two-part special on Dec. 4.... Reminder: Court TV premieres Murder by the Book, in which best-selling authors such as James Ellroy and Faye Kellerman revisit compelling true-crime stories, tonight at 10 pm/ET.... A&E has extended the fourth season of The First 48 by six episodes, to begin unspooling this Thursday at 9 pm. Season 5 premieres in January 2007.... And on a personal note, I want to wish a happy fourth birthday to Jared and Jacob Mitovich, two Dora, Thomas and Cars enthusiasts who are the "top story" every night when their daddy comes home from work at "the TV magazine." Love you guys!

Thank you! Their party was yesterday, and it was a hit. Cars plates, napkins, banners, balloons, cake.... I'll be spending the next 17 evenings or so assembling this, that and the other thing, but that's what dads do!

Don't you have any sibling to help with the assembly? Aunt Lisa is the official Playmobil assembly team for my boys! (Of course I only live a mile away) Dad shouldn't have to assemble everything and your boys shouldn't have to wait 17 days !

Happy birthday to the boys! I watched Cars last night with my friend's three-year old and my daughter, but she's way too much of a budding drag queen to appreciate drag racing.

That's a nice sentiment Matt, but I doubt your 4-year-olds can even read. And even if they can, they're obviously never going to see it since they apparently don't know the name of the magazine you work at.
Even so, I hope the little guys had a great birthday!

Four years old--what a great age. I'm glad your boys had such a great birthday. In June I bought a "Cars" Target gift card for my six-year-old grandnephew, Jacob Alonso. Biiiig hit--he's a real car and "Cars" nut. Thanks for the sharing.
