Saw III: Yes, There Will Be Real Blood

Giving a project your blood, sweat and tears used to be just a saying, but Saw's Tobin Bell has taken it to a new level. The veteran actor who plays John Kramer/"Jigsaw" in the fright franchise had his own blood drawn so that it could be mixed with the ink used to print the promo posters for Saw III, hitting theaters Oct. 27. "I asked [the printer] what we could do to get the deepest blood red... would it be possible to use real blood," Lions Gate marketing exec Tim Palen tells Variety. "He said, 'We could try, but are you serious?' I said I was dead serious." As with past installments, Lions Gate will hold blood drives in conjunction with III's premiere.

Eww...gross. I like the idea of the blood drives. I cannot donate blood. I was in Germany for 6 years. Most army families in the 80s were sent there. Due to mad cow disease none of us can give blood. That is a lot of people.

So he had his blood drawn, and instead of using it to help people who need blood, he spread it on a poster?? Good thinking. He definitely needs to hold some blood drives, just to make up for the blood he wasted.

I have always liked Tobin Bell, in many things. However, this behavior kind of freaks me out.

I'm with Megan...donate the blood!

Simmah down, y'all, it was only a vial's worth, mixed in with the red ink. Not like the guy spilled 16 units at once!

Well, Matt. He could say he put a vial in there and no one would know it one way or the other. It isn't like it glows or anything. I think it's all just to get attention for the movie. It worked! Here we are posting about it! I'm not too upset - but I still think he's an ass.
