Sarah Connor Will Be Back... in August Marathon

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles by Isabella Vosmikova/Fox
Hearing about this made me melancholy for my childhood, when rerunning a TV show's entire previous season during the summer was the norm. (The kiddies reading this blog are going, "Ooh, tell us more stories, Grandpa!") Starting August 10 and airing Sunday through Wednesday at 9 pm/ET, Fox is airing every episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicle's first season.

If you need me to spell it out for you, I shall oblige:

Sunday, Aug. 10: "Pilot"
Monday, Aug. 11: "Gnothi Seauton"
Tuesday, Aug. 12: "The Turk"
Wednesday, Aug. 13: "Heavy Metal"
Sunday, Aug. 17: "Queen’s Gambit"
Monday, Aug. 18: "Dungeons and Dragons"
Tuesday, Aug. 19: "The Demon Hand"
Wednesday, Aug. 20: "Vick’s Chip"
Sunday, Aug. 24: "What He Beheld"

Rerunning the entire first season. Simple but brilliant, yes? — Matt Mitovich

Thank you for this news; I wavered back and forth on whether to watch it or not and ended up going with "not" - but I've always sort of regretted it. Now I'll definitely catch up.

I didn't get the chance to watch this the first time around so I'll have to DVR it. I just wish they didn't pick the week the Olympics start to kick off the rerun!

Given there were only 9 season 1 episodes probably made this a lot easier for them to do. I may be a good idea in order to get more viewers hooked in time for season 2, but I worry about it having that impact while airing against the Olympics.

:^O
It's true, I remember when summer was all about re-runs of first run series, those were the days.

Thanks for posting the exact schedule, Matt! I missed one or two eps, including the finale. I heard Brian Austin Green did a phenomenal job, so I'm looking forward to it.

Yes!!!
This will make many Shirley Manson fans happy. I heard this show was pretty good but with Shirley it's definitely gonna be amazing!

There was a couple of episodes that I missed so I'm quite thrilled!

I miss summer reruns too :(

Like Dianora, I wavered about whether to watch it and chose not to do so. I've heard good things about it, though, especially as it got going, so I think I will check it out this time around.

Indeed - simple and brilliant !

Wish all the nets would do this - especially for some of the 'bubble' shows or shows that barely got a pick up.

I think alot of shows would get so more people looking at them now that they are all not up against eachother as they are in the fall.

And let's face it - there is hardly a darned thing on with the exception of 30 Days that is worth watching right now.

Let's hope FX takes the hint and re-runs the previous season of The Shield this summer. Since they're making us wait almost TWO YEARS for the final episodes, viewers need to remember what happened!

Ah, yes, the good old days of summer re-runs. They helped introduce new viewers to TV shows they didn't catch the first time around. A good audience-building strategy that the networks have all but abandoned.

Alas, Shirley Manson's character's not going to appear until next season.:(

As for those days when networks would rerun entire seasons of programming over the summer - man, I miss that, too! (Especially with shows like Heroes and Lost.)

EXACTLY!! Simple but brilliant. Instead of just hoping potential viewers might catch the show online or on dvd, the network has a marathon. Amidst all the reality TV shows, it's refreshing. If other networks had followed through with such a plan, many of my cancelled shows might have had more viewers upon their return and been renewed i.e. Women's Murder Club, Moonlight, etc.

I am old, as well. I remember getting my boyfriend hooked on Twin Peaks during the summer.
I also got hooked on Buffy during the summer reruns.
Reruns are so much better than the reality TV that is on now.
At least I get more stuff done during the summer.
