Sarah Silverman's Happy as $#!% About MTV Gig
MTV has tapped the sexy and sassy Sarah Silverman to front the 2007 MTV Movie Awards, airing live on June 3. Sarah has her special way of talking about things, so lemme hit you with some sound bites from her purty pottymouth regarding the plum gig:
• "The other day I sat down too hard and sprained my labia majora. I'm OK, but I took it as a sign from God to host the MTV Movie Awards."
• To MTV.com: "This is actually the first time the MTV [Movie] Awards are live, which means I can say ass c--k t-- vagina diarrhea sandwich, and they can't bleep it out. Which is great, because that's my favorite sandwich."
• Last but not least, to the AP: "Ever since I was a little girl, before MTV even started in 1980, I said, 'Someday, I want there to be an all-music channel that gives out awards for movies. And I want to host that show.'"
Love. Her.

I find her funny about 25% of the time, and judging from her comments above -- only that last one out of four was amusing -- she hasn't changed her batting average

Oh no way, I think she's hilarious. For the first time since I was about 14, I might actually WATCH these awards. Good choice, MTV.

I love her as well. Her Comedy Central show was hilarious. I will definitely be tuning in live because I'm sure that when MTV reruns it about a million times, something will get edited out.

I might actually watch too. She's crazy. I watched her tv show yesterday and it's so wrong, but also very funny.

I think she's irreverent and clever and leaves me chuckling, gasping and laughing. Her brand of humor is immeasurably more nuanced than just the raunch and profanity.
So I agree with others, I may actually watch the MTV awards (something I haven't done in years).

I lost all the respect I might have had for her after watching her at the Improv in LA. She was clearly stoned, kept leafing through a notebook looking for jokes (mostly bad), and thought it was hilarious to hump the piano. The audience was stunned, and there was a lot of booing. It was like watching a plane crash. My husband and I now refuse seeing anything she's in. She made a spectacle of herself, and was disrespectful to a paying audience.

I am with Raven on this. I rarely find her "humor" funny. She is offensive just to be offensive. Many times she just seems to search for ugly things to say. Funny how MTV is willing to broadcast this woman's goods yet finds Janet Jackson's unairable--go figure.

She is either REALLY funny or NOT funny at all! Her Jesus movie was pretty funny. She can be pretty racy though. Lookout Imus.
