Rosie Planning a Fran-tastic New Sitcom?

Her recent TV endeavors include very public disputes with cohosts (on The View) and disturbing turns on cable dramas (Nip/Tuck), but now Rosie O'Donnell wants to get back to the ha-has (remember she started in stand-up?), in the form of a new sitcom.

According to a video blog posted on Rosie.com, O'Donnell and onetime Nanny Fran Drescher are working on a "fun, happy, family comedy" (as Drescher put it). "Fran and I have a new sitcom, but we can't talk about it, right?" said O'Donnell. Indeed, the Mouth's spokeswoman, Cindi Berger, tells the Los Angeles Times it's "way too premature" to discuss the prospective project, though Ro herself confirmed it to a fan on her site.

No word yet on whether Tom Cruise will guest-star. — Nina Hämmerling Smith

Oh, Miss Fine - run while you still can!

Do NOT throw in with the train wreck that is Rosie O'Donnell...not if you want to come out on the other side with any shred of sanity or self-respect. or respect from the acting community!

Now, on the other hand, O'Donnell and Cruise - THEY deserve each other. Seriously.

I first remember her as the neighbor in Gimme a Break. I think this might work - something scripted that she can stick to.

Nobody is gonna watch this. Even if it's funny. Which it won't be.

Rosie is a good actress. I can understand people not agreeing with her opinions, but it shouldn't take away from her acting ability. She has had great roles in many movies and I think a Fran/Rosie combo would be interesting..

The horror ... the horror!!

The two most annoying voices in modern television history. At least Fran is nice to look at. Rosie is one of those people who you'd normally say "Well, at least she has a nice personality". Except that she doesn't.

Me for one think it would be hilarious to have both actresses on a new project. Although I don't aggree with Rosie's views, I think she and Fran would make us laugh...

:-D I hope it's true. They are both talented, funny ladies and together this should be a great show. Can't Wait!

There is quite enough trash on television already, without adding the likes of Rosie O'Donald. Please don't let this happen.

Oh I don't know... I think Rosie is about ready to show what she can do and Fran needs to make up for that train wreck that was her last show. I'm going to take a wait and see on this one. BTW Mr. Furley that was pretty funny. No kidding.
