Report: Britney's Father Tried to Commit Her; Plus: Naked Pics Hit Tabloid

OK, maybe not all parental units were asleep at the wheel. Both of Britney Spears' folks — but primarily her pop, Jamie — for months have been trying to get her committed to a mental hospital for bipolar disorder, TMZ reports. Brit, though, refused, and continues to fend off any bid to have her formally diagnosed with the condition.

Meanwhile, X17Online hears that the pap agency for whom Britney's latest boy toy, Adnan, toils, has sold an Australian magazine dibs on "semi-nude" photos he snapped of the pop tart in a T-shirt... and nothing else. Though it was hoped that the racy images would fetch $5 million when shopped to U.K. tabloids, ultimately, due to their poor quality, the Aussie mag only ponied up $57K.

Really, how is seeing her in a T-shirt and nothing else any different from any number of pictures that have been around a while of her getting out of a car with basically only a T-shirt on...or swimming in her underwear... I would say pictures of her without underwear are a dime a dozen by now.

Maybe people are finally starting to feel really slimy about cashing in on an obviously mentally troubled young woman. Or maybe that's just me being too optimistic.

It's not like she's shy about showing her what-should-be-private parts, so who cares. If the pictures were of her wearing underwear, then I think they would have gotten $5 million.

I feel different about Britney after watching Cristine Aguiliera's video the other night. I had no idea that performing was so draining. I can't blame Britney for giving it up.

Britney is so gullible. I blame Paris Hilton for the bare crotch shots taken a few months ago. Paris seems bent on destroying the images of her so called friends like Lohan and Spears. Paris seems to hate talent; perhaps because she has so little.

Poor Britney. She has no friends who aren't trying to use her. And I wonder about her family. Her dad sounds like the only one who has wanted her committed in the past.

So Britney likes sex. If she were a man, she could buy it for one night & no commitment. As a woman, she has to let some guy into her life, and thinks she must share a commitment with him.

It's just so very sad. I regret some of the things I have said about Britney.
