Regis Rolls Out Red Carpet for Oscars

Lisa and Joey, please be gentle when competing against the man with the tender ticker. Regis Philbin has been tapped to host ABC's own (and the "official") red-carpet show preceding the Feb. 24 Academy Awards broadcast, it was announced on Monday.

The Alphabet net's 30-minute pre-show airs at 8 pm/ET, live from the Kodak Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center (making it the only awards show where you can Build-a-Bear alongside Judi Dench).

I hope Regis' people are reading this. He needs to pack it up and retire already. I have stopped watching Live with Regis and Kelly because Regis can't remember the guest's names, whether they have a book, movie, or TV show, etc. He mispronounces names repeated and it is embarassing for guests and viewers to be subjected to increasingly embarrassing moments. He won't remember anyone who is on the red carpet unless someone is putting the questions and answers in his ear.

The only problem with your post marla616, is that Regis has always been that way. The short memories of most folk prevent them from remembering when Regis was a total joke in the industry. For years after The Joey Bishop Show his very name was a punchline. The only thing worse than watching Regis is watching him with his duller than dull wife.
