Regis' Final Answer: Yes, I'll Have Bypass Surgery

Live cohost Regis Philbin announced on Monday's show that upon suffering "chest pains, shortness of breath... and all those little symptoms you hear about," and being examined by doctors, he has been advised to undergo heart-bypass surgery this week. "Nobody wants to do it," said Philbin, who had hoped to skate by with just an angioplasty. "I [got] a second opinion, and they're all in agreement that it should be the bypass. So that's what I'm going to do."

Kelly Ripa, in turn, quipped that she's available for sponge-bathing, making my own ticker skip a beat.

Maybe you can guest host with Kelly. Just don't put your hand over her mouth!

LOL, maurine! :^O They were actually very funny this morning, under the circumstances! He said he talked it over with David Letterman and then asked Kelly for her advice, and Kelly said, maybe he should move beyond consulting with talk show hosts! They are classic together!

I looking forward to Regis getting back to the show when he's well enough. My viewing day doesn't truly begin until I can see Regis ranting and Kelly raving about something! Get well, Reege!

Fortunately, I listened to my guidance counsellor way back in high school, who said "Do what you love". Now I have a job where watching TV is part of my responsibilities. It's pretty sweet! :)

GOOD LUCK, REEGE. Get well soon. The show is never the same without you no matter who the co-host is.
You are in our prayers and we await your return. I don't usually watch it if you aren't on so I'll have to find another way to start my day.

Poor Reg. I wish him good luck! He'll be ok.
As to Kelly, seriously Matt, don't you like your woman over 90 pounds?? She's a bag-o-bones! I say give Regis heart surgery and hand her a sandwich cause little girl needs to eat!

Godspeed, Regis.

After this, may you be able to answer "yes" to the question "Is that your final surgery?"

Holding a good thought for ya.

Oh, but Kelly has the one thing sexier than curves — she's one of the quickest, funniest gals I have ever, ever met. And I say that at the risk of having Mark stare me down hard the next time our paths cross.

Hey it's cool. Humour and a quick wit are very attractive qualities and believe me, curves are not everything... it's just that Kelly strikes me as borderline anorexic and that makes me sad... and when I get sad, sex and sexiness is not on my mind. But hey, you've met her... maybe she's not anorexic looking in person? There's thin and then there's skeletal. She strikes me as the latter. Sorry... don't wanna rag on your crush!
