Ratings: Wedding Is Off, Race Can't Catch Repeats
Ratings bits from Friday and Sunday:
• On Friday at 9, the time-slot premiere of Raines (8.62 million total viewers) trailed Close to Home by 2.7 mil, but delivered 1.5 million more heads than who last tuned in to the NBC newbie.
• The Wedding Bells (4.52 million, down a mil week-to-week) took the ratings plunge, as did Six Degrees (3.18 mil), which (undeservedly! My wife likes it, darn it!) cooled off to the tune of 1.4 mil.
• On Sunday, a two-hour batch of The Amazing Race (averaging nine mil) could best neither repeats of Extreme Makeover: HE (9.82 mil), nor Deal or No Deal (10.29 mil), nor a Desperate Housewives clip show (9.79 mil).
• A special 10 pm offering of Cold Case (13.09 million) topped Brothers & Sisters (9.13 mil, down more than two mil from its last fresh eppy) and The Apprentice (6.01 mil).

Brothers & Sisters was soooo good last night. more people should be watching this show (along with Friday Night Lights). was curious to find out how it would do without a new desperate housewives and im sad that it was down two-mil from its last fresh ep.

So, is this good news or bad news for Raines? I'm really enjoying that show.
Bummer about Brothers & Sisters. Last night's ep was really good.

Networks schedules with new shows, repeats and random, spotting showings on new episodes this time of year seem to make ratings less meaningful because it's hard to track what is on when and what's new and what isn't. If I didn't have a DVR I wouldn't have known there was a new B&S on last night.

Brothers and Sisters is good but when will producers learn you can't take a show away from an audience and put in repeats and then just suddenly put in a new eppy. Please. People deserve better than that! Yes, they promoed it but still. As for Friday nights Close to Home I watched it and then hated it because it was all male bashing. I know it's meant for women viewers but can't we at least have some male on the show who is likeable in the very least? Or is that too much to ask?

scout302, what about David James Elliot? Or Bruce Davison's character when he's on? I hate his tactics, but he care's for Ms. Finnigan's character, and he plays a smarmy defense lawyer to perfection. And the subject was rape, so by default all the males involved had to be acting less than scrupulous. When men get it, then maybe things will be different. BTW, I am of the testosterone persuasion.
Can't believe that TAR is bested by the likes of DOND. Good gosh, people, where is you taste.

I didn't even realize B&S was new til I saw it on the TV Guide Channel with 'new' next to it. Had about 15 minutes notice. I'm sure they'll find it was caught on TiVo by folks who didn't know either.

Hey Matt, do you have the ratings for Numbers, I'd love to know (and/or can you include them in the future) Its one of my favorites.
Oh, and Bro & Sis was really good, esp the dinner and Rebecca's reaction to the shenanigans.
Thanks!
