How frustrating that Supernatural's ratings are so low. I hope Dawn Ostroff doesn't pull another VM on us. Are ratings being looked at very closely right now with things so affected by the strike?

Damn it people, watch Lost later, watch Supernatural live! Last night was an amazing episode.

I, for one, will admit the strike has seriously affected my viewing habits. The schedule has been so erratic for new episodes that I've missed a lot of them when they have been on. The way the networks are dribbling them out has really hurt my ability to care, too. I didn't watch any TV last night, and I probably won't tonight, either.

So, hey networks! Are you listening? Your greed in not wanting to pay your writers a just and reasonable compensation is hurting YOU! When this strike is over and regular programming does return, I won't be in the same rut as I was before. I - and I'm sure I'm not the only one - have found other avenues of entertainment. So, have fun trying to get back to where you were before, because I don't care any more!

I don't think "Veronica Mars" set the precedent of canceling incredibly low-rated shows. That precedent was set pretty much when the idea of making money became rather popular among businesses. Ostroff has to do what she has to do and if Supernatural isn't delivery buzz like "Gossip Girl" (which, if I'm not mistaken, gets worse numbers) then it may get canceled. It's been saved from cancellation before so maybe it will get a reprieve.

olomaya -- SPN would have more buzz if Ostroff and the CW actually PROMOTED it.

That might, you know help with the word of mouth/Buzz part.

I'm still interested to see what's going to happen when they put Reaper on in the timeslot -- just how low will the ratings go then?

Mostly, I just hate that SPN is up against Lost, because it's way worse competition for a show like SPN than Grey's was -- and Grey's was bad enough. Sigh.

Well Reaper just sucks, so I don't see much hope for that show but then again, I don't work at the CW.

I agree that they don't promote Supernatural as much but I don't know if it's a chicken and the egg situation. Is their not promoting it the cause of its lack of viewers or is the fact that the show never had much buzz around it that didn't have to be generated through ad campaigns causing them to not want to waste marketing bucks on it? And the best word of mouth isn't based on marketing but on people who see the show, love it and tell their friends and I think that's where Supernatural fails. While I know it has a devoted, albeit small fanbase, I don't find it to be a buzz-worthy show and I don't think any amount of marketing will help (though it certainly can't hurt). Every episode I've seen (maybe 5 altogether from all 3 seasons), I've liked but there's just something about the show...it lacks that certain "thing" that makes me want to go back and watch the next episode. There are some shows like that. Good but just not high on your viewing priority list. I feel like Supernatural is one of those shows. Maybe because it's a genre show, or people don't like the dark look of it sometimes, I don't know.

I LOVE Supernatural and I do tell people about it! But I think most people are put-off when I tell them it's on the CW...

I will admit that I'm guilty of watchling Lost live and taping Supernatual (yes, I still use a VCR instead of DVR). However, I do this because I find myself repeatedly wanting to rewind parts of Supernatural to watch them again - that show is so darn good and Dean/JA is so freakin' hot!!!!!:-x

I tell people about SPN all the time, the problem is you say The CW and either a) people don't even know the network or b) they automatically think it's like One Tree Hill or Gossip Girl.

I don't think the media helps much with this impression, since they say misleading things about the two new female characters (neither or hunters and neither are love interests, yet media tends to constantly imply that).

I don't know in a way I just wish I could take over SPN PR, because it's barely promoted, not promoted well and the show summaries in TV Guide always make light, give too much away or are totally misleading.

However SPN fans do show friends, do get people into the show, and do talk and talk about it.

In a lot of ways SPN is on the wrong Network, it drives me crazy -- I'll just have to keep crossing my fingers we get a least five seasons. (though with this years strike-season I really want six now. LOL.)

What the hell is wrong with people? You'll watch a repeat of a procedural show, instead a fun charming new show like Eli Stone. Wow, America really relishes depression.

Only one of my favorites was chosen to compete (Yau-Man Chan), so I tuned out.

Where are the likes of Colleen Haskell, Michael Skupin, Nick Brown, Jerri Manthey, Amber Brkich, Rodger Bingham, Colby Donaldson, Tom Buchanan, Lex van den Berghe, Ethan Zohn, Rob Mariano, Paschal English, Neleh Dennis, Shii Ann Huang, Christy Smith, Heidi Strobel, Rob Cesternino, Matthew Von Ertfelda, Rupert Boneham, Chris Daugherty, Ian Rosenberger, Tom Westman, Gary Hogeboom, Danni Boatwright, Shane Powers, Terry Deitz, Danielle DiLorenzo, Aras Baskauskas, Yul Kwon, James "Rocky" Reid, Andria (Dre) "Dreamz" Herd, Earl Cole, Michael "Frosti" Zernow, Jean-Robert Bellande, Erik Huffman, and Todd Herzog?

It looks like the favorites were chosen from the bottom of the barrel for the most part.

Well it's easy to see that the Porn Pros at CBS are the ones who picked the "Fan Faves" on Survivor, and set up the "Couples" for Big Brother9. They make me sick.

I won't watch either one. I have quit watching CBS for a lot of other reasons as well. I love Supernatural.
