Ratings: Love Shaq? Not So Much! Plus, SG-1

A few Tuesday ratings bits:

America's Got Talent dominated the night, averaging 11.4 million total viewers over its two-hour run.

• Another 120 thou yelled "Cut!" to On the Lot (2.29 mil).

• At 9, Shaq's Big Challenge debuted to just 4.42 million, albeit a 720K increase over the previous week's According to Jim repeats. UPDATE: Speaking of Jim, ABC apparently isn't done with the sitcom after all. Blame the Ausiello Report.

And jumping back to Friday, the Stargate SG-1 series ender was watched by 2.2 mil, the sci-fier's best performance since its September 22, 2006, mid-season finale.

Hey Matt. Do you or anyone else have any info. on John From Cincinnati ratings from this past Sunday? I asked Ausiello yesterday in his discussion thread but he didn't know anything either.

I realize I am stating the obvious but if Mark Burnett and Steven Speilberg weren't behind On the Lot, it would have been cancelled by now.

RIP Stargate SG-1... I'm thankful that my husband got me hooked on you, and that we own almost all the seasons on dvd, since we don't get the Sci-Fi channel. I will miss you, until I see the movies that is...

I like Shaq's weight challenge. Im glad that he cares and is taking a stand about the childhood obsesity issue that is going on in this country. I sorta like "On the Lot", some of the shorts that the wanna be directors do are really good. But the host, and of the judges in particular are driving me up the wall. Why do I still watch.....I have no clue.

I love that Shaq is doing something to save these kids, and really glad that he is bringing the problem out in the open and will hopefully open the eyes of some parents. He seemed really caring and concerned for them.
But I was sure irritated with him last night when he gave the kids an exercise program and then just deserted them to work on their own, and expected them to do it 'because they told me they would and I'm a superstar, so they won't lie to me.' OH PLEASE! They needed guidance and motivation! I wanted to reach in to the tv and smack him upside his big ol cute head! Hope he does better by them next week.

You're right countryshel6 that made me made as well that he just deserted them. But since this was shot during the NBA season, he could of at least had his cute bald physician friend monitor the kids. Or had somebody else do it as well.

There was a show on TLC channel earlier this year. I forgot the name of it. It is about a nutritionist (relatively unknown and quite boring) who works with the family whose kids have weight problems. The one on abc is similar to the biggest loser (not an original idea) with kids being the contestants and a celebrity as host.

I am not sure if the program on TLC is coming back for another season!

Thanks john! Didn't know about that other show. I am one of the rare few who refuse to pay for cable tv, so I limp along with network shows! But in this case, the more the merrier. Putting a stop to childhood obesity is a good thing. Those kids need a shot at a good life!

I watched Shaq because my husband had me see one scene, and then I just stayed. I was worried when the doctor told the one chick that she needed to weigh between 110 and 115. I didn't see if the gave their heights. My daughter is 5'5" and weighs 113. She is way too skinny. Her sister is 5'2" and weighs 125 and is healthy and athletic. I was worried when the doc threw a number at here like that. Weight is relative. Yes she had the highest BMI, but if she is 5'%' that is too skinny. Plus they didn't take into account anyone's ethnic background. Certain peoples of the world naturally have higher masses, such as Polynesians. Others have very low ones, like the Chinese. Of course there are extremes in everything. I totally agree that it was bogus of Shaq to expect the kids to just exercise. He's a pro and he still has to have Doc there kicking his ass. What did he think kids who have never been trained would do?! Love him, but he's an air head.
