Ratings: A Very Good Bye for the Girls
This Tuesday's ratings, at a glance:
8 pm/ET Idol's penultimate performance show netted 23.03 million total viewers, a 1.47 mil drop from a week ago. A DWTS repeat (9.11 mil) placed second, followed by the first hour of the ACM Awards (which, averaging 9.19 mil for the night, shed 22 percent of last year's audience). Gilmore Girls said farewell to 4.76 million, an 800-thou surge and the series' best numbers since December 6.

9 pm House dom'd with the usual 21.59 mil. Dancing's results show (18.06 mil) soared another 1.6 mil. Veronica Mars, whose fate is still in frustrating limbo, inched up 400,000, to 2.24 mil.
10 pm SVU (12.58 mil) rebounded from its downward spiral to the tune of 1.7 mil. Boston Legal (10.72 mil, +430K) edged out the close of the ACMs.

Thanks for the numbers, Matt. I would have been surprised for the Gilmore Girls' numbers to have done anything but surge!

Gilmore Girls was a beautifully written and acted episode. It was an entirely satisfactory way to end the series. I'll admit it - I had a tear in my eye at the end.

Gilmore Girls was awesome and I'm glad the ratings reflect that. I am so bummed it's over but so thankful for 7 years of a great show.

Thanks for the numbers, Matt.
Glad to see that Veronica went up a but. I've still got my fingers crossed that Ostroff will announce a fourth season before the end of the month.

Sorry to all you Gilmore Girls fans. I know this is a tough time for you. Always is to lose a show you love.
I hope it had a happy ending for you guys...
Now Matt I have a question... why is CSI still called TV's number one Drama when House beats it every week?

^ Grey's Anatomy also beats CSI almost every week.
Glad to see Veronica back over two million. Let's hope one of the CW's new shows receives less than that every week, like Runaway did. Then VM can be brought in.
