Ratings: Without a Doubt, CSI Crossover Pays off
This Thursday's ratings recap:
8 pm/ET Survivor topped the hour with 14.9 million total viewers, adding 600 thou from last week. Ugly Betty's wedding had 10.9 mil RSVP, a million-head gain. Behind 5th Grader was NBC's combo of Earl (7.66 mil, +360K) and 30 Rock (6.61 mil, up a Jack Donaghy hair). Smallville (4.6 mil) saw a 290K increase.
9 pm The CSI half of the Without a Trace crossover drew 21.9 million, a 17 percent increase on CSI's previous audience. Grey's placed second (but tops in demos) with 19.3 mil (up 540 thou). The Office (8.29 mil) was down a bit, while Scrubs (6.36 mil) discharged 320K. Supernatural barely delivered 3 mil, a 280K drop.
10 pm Tremendously jacked up by the CSI merge, Without a Trace had an audience of 21.39 mil, a 47 percent week-to-week gain. Big Shots (an inflated 8.62 mil) dipped 280K but still bested ER (which sank 650 thou to 8.42 mil).

I'm watching the crossover episodes right now. Both are really good. I just can't stick with CSI though....too gory

Great that Without a Trace got some added viewers! Maybe that will carry over into the future!

How do you think they will handle these episodes in syndication and DVDs? Clearly they are not stand-alone episodes.

Speaking of Big Shots, I read someplace earlier today that it was cancelled. Then someone replied it hadn't. What's the scoop?

I was one of the people that tuned in for the CSI and Without a Trace crossover. Unfortunately, the script didn't live up to the hipe. I was disappointed.

I'm a CSI fan, have been for a while now. I loved the CSI section of the crossover, but the Without a Trace part felt like a letdown. The main reason was that none of the WAT characters seem to show much emotion. Maybe it's because I don't watch it regularly, but I would have preferred the whole thing to have been done on CSI.

I'd have to say... best crossover yet. Except for the fact that you can tell that Jack didn't like Grissom when he was in Vegas, but...he warmed up to him when he arrived in New York. But, Samantha's reaction to Grissom was hilarious!!! I hope they do another Crossover sometime in the future!

Great crossover. I loved the verbal sparring between Jack and Grissom. ALP and WP have great chemistry and are great actors, each delivered a fine performance. Well done...more of the same please.
